AFM/DOD delete plugs or valley cover

I am really confused here.. After you would do the port block, and VLOM mod, whats the purpose of these blocks?

Does this sound like a failed lifter? 2015 with 97k miles.

Has a noisy injector type of sound, but that could still be a bad lifter.

    Onstar whole system delete?

Maybe they changed how the OSCM is integrated in the system in later years.. I need to remember I havent owned anything newer than a 2006 (on purpose), so technology changes... So I could be wrong.

    Onstar whole system delete?

Where are you getting this info from? I have unplugged many on-star units, and never had an issue..

    Dreaded Lifter Issue

I would also replace the pushrod. If its just the collapsed lifter, it slapping around on the lifter/rocker can damage the cone, or in my case, bend the push rod. They are like 2-7 bucks depending on where you get them. Never had to replace a intake gasket on a LS yet. They were always...

    Another oil pressure saga!

Kinda.... Below the oil pressure sensor is a port that provides oil to that VLOM setup.. When one of those actuators fail on the VLOM, oil bypasses it, potentially causing issues with the AFM/DOD. On my 5.3 AFM/DOD, I plugged off that port to the VLOM (link below of what I used), and it...

    Another oil pressure saga!

I am wondering the same as @B-train , wondering if its not just a failing VLOM actuator.

    AFM Lifter Failure Average Mileage?

Usually thats the case, unless you purchase it at the end of the lease.

    2023 Tahoe - Bad Injectors - 4900 Miles

I would be surprised if its injectors. Likely something more serious, but in either case you are in a waiting game for parts.. If you are really concerned about the reliability of the truck, check on your states lemon laws, or wait until its fixed, and dump it. I cant give you any real advice...

    Dreaded Lifter Issue

I would tackle this completely different, but I dont know your mechanical skills, or if you have a mechanic you trust, to try and do a lifter release, and VLOM mod, PCM tune. If it wasnt driven long with the collapsed lifter, the cam may just be fine. Mine was, and I spent 350 bucks to fix mine...

08 Tahoe Hybrid no start/ no crank after AFM valve replacement

Didn't read all that... holy long post batman! I would start a little different, free tests! First, pull the coil off another cylinder, and swap it with number 8. See if the miss moves. While you are there, pull the spark plug, and just check it for strap issues, and electrode issues...

Uh Ohh... Rear wheel bearings replacement

Rear passenger side? You got lucky for one of them.. Not the other! C0561-71 - Is not a good code to get, I am pretty sure.. Hopefully someone with more experience can respond! https://freeonplate.com/c0561-traction-control-code/ C0050-5A - Is the right rear wheel speed sensor.. I called it!

Uh Ohh... Rear wheel bearings replacement

They wont clear if they have not already... There is another problem in the system. SRS and ABS codes will clear automatically when the error is corrected.. At least for vehicles produced before 2015. Not sure after that. Time to borrow a SRS/ABS scanner, and see whats next on the to do list...

Uh Ohh... Rear wheel bearings replacement

Thats called an axle saver.. Yeap, used those on my old 81 Cadi DeVille with a big block... man I miss that ride. I dont recommend these guys. Just for reference.. Seal and bearing all in one, and relocates the bearing so its out of the groove...

08 Tahoe Hybrid no start/ no crank after AFM valve replacement

Good job on that, but CrazedPerformance has seen oil pressure come from underneath, and this is why the VLOM modification is done. Cant get pressure from above or below that way.

08 Tahoe Hybrid no start/ no crank after AFM valve replacement

This is just my opinion here, and one not shared by many.. Have been running this way on my Saab flawlessly now for some time... Once you are sure that all 16 lifters are working, just deactivate it in the tune. Dont worry about the cam unless you are sure that the cam is the issue. Also be...

2009 PPV - Looking for a build sheet?

There is only one decoder that is 100%, and thats thru GM customer Service. That one is about 80-90% depending on the vehicle.

Uh Ohh... Rear wheel bearings replacement

Sounds like there may be a lip on one of the bearing faces. Just gotta keep wiggling, pushing and pulling. If the C-Clip is out, there is nothing holding it in

08 Tahoe Hybrid no start/ no crank after AFM valve replacement

If it was in crash protection mode, that would show up on your scanner thru the SRS system. A Tech2 clean wipe of all systems, after you read/write down the existing codes, is where I would start.

08 Tahoe Hybrid no start/ no crank after AFM valve replacement

As far as I know, the Actron cp9690 will not read the info he is after. He needs a Bi-Directional scanner to read the HCM, and the status of the related components. That one is just a 1 directional, with added features for battery/oil reset. Its a great scanner for German gasoline, possibly...

08 Tahoe Hybrid no start/ no crank after AFM valve replacement

His truck would need to run for him to make the drive.. My understandings of the Hybrid system for jump start is that you have to put a charger on the assy battery, and let it sit there for a good 4-24 hours at 12ish amps. This is so that the HCM can trickle charge the Hybrid battery pack...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Im pretty sure its either going to be Nustar, Sinclair, Magellon, or SunCor. My company supplies almost all the E100 product to them, and they dilute it to the E85. I have a limited access to E100. But nothing I own is even remotely capable of E85.
