Sold the 2019 Yukon XL SLT 4x4: 86K miles...guess how much?

What you just pointed out is the love the US has for these trucks. I image there’s a lot of 1st time Burb, Tahoe, Yuke & Esky owners who never plan to own a completely new truck There’s so much value left in a preloved GM truck. Nowadays, sometimes these big preloved GM trucks are the 1st...

2016/2017 Yukon Denali long term reliability

Also, if you decide to purchase a Gen V / K2XX / 15-19 the ability to update the 6SP or 8SP to a 10SP trans is now possible. This means if you find a vehicle that’s a cream puff and your concerned about weird trans behavior, know that replacing it also means a milage, performance, longevity...

2016/2017 Yukon Denali long term reliability

Easier to answer Pros instead of Cons. Denali has 80% of same features throughout the years but paint & dash fail. The middle ground for features, options & no AFM & e85 is 09 Plat or Base model. Add the 12-14 Navi that integrates 4G Onstar, WiFi w/ XM traffic/weather. All are 6.2L & 6L80...

Exhaust Manifold Leak (Suspected): Tips, Suggestions, Experience?

08 Yukon w/ 5.3L. I didn’t read past posts thoroughly so if somethings already covered, that’s why. On my 08 YXL 6.2L I verified no codes present, plugs replaced with OEM. The tick was still there. Had the Mani off for the AWD 100k Maj serv when trans was pulled. Yup, two broken studs. One took...

    2500 Burb or Yukon XL

Gotcha, the specifics would have to be verified from DuraBurb. Regardless, the architecture is there on the 3500 so it’s a proven method for frame / chassis swaps with or without a little fab work

    2500 Burb or Yukon XL

GM recently announced that they’re dropping the 3.0L Diesel for Escalade in 2025. Other models will apparently retain it. GM also just lost a Class action on the fuel pumps for the 11-16 6.6L Duramax LML Diesel CP4 pumps. https://apple.news/AFqxshpdMTeiA0JgAD24qBQ With that mess being...

Cruise control turns off when Rear window Defrost is turned on

If the brake switch fails the cruise control doesn’t work. It can also lock the shifter in Park. It’s lucky your daughter saw that tail light out. That would be where I would dig in. Remove the LED bulbs until this is remedied. CAN BUS runs off 5v in the system and LED, no matter what’s...

    Is this factory original shocks?

Welcome from SoCal. Where’d you find that low mileage gem? Here’s what you got! https://www.xr793.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/2007-Cadillac-Escalade-CN.pdf There’s a remote possibility you got one of the early Escalade without z55 AutoRide active suspension. The auto levelling (air) rear...

    Another option for Motor/Engine mounts

That’s common. One side goes bad. The dealer verifies 1 motor mount is $850 installed. Customer runs away to an Indi tech and gladly pays $400 for just one generic, non hydraulic mount. The new mount takes a beating because the other mount is tired and then lasts 1/3 or 1/2 as long as it should...

2016/2017 Yukon Denali long term reliability

Speaking from an 09 Escalade ESV Platinum soap box here. You’ll lose the coumfy couch seat and softer ride. We specifically sold our cream puff L92 08 YXL Denali in 2020 to get the L9H 09 Esky. Both were at 140k miles. Denali sold for $12.5k (CA), Esky was $14k (TX). We needed the Non AFM motor...

Melted mega fuse holder near positive battery post

Some batteries have a slightly smaller post that will never allow the clamp to tighten to 100%. It arcing can’t be seen. It then gets hot and superheats the wire so it oxidizes and builds resistance. From that point both the -/+ cables must be replaced.

Issues with fueling and low power. 09 Tahoe 5.3

Good questions. The nozzle got turned up on the issue to wide spray with more and bigger issues. Get to someone / somewhere who can pull some codes for you. It’s still an unresolved engine problem until you get a DTC for trans issues.

Are motor mounts easy to replace with exhaust manifolds removed?

07-08 Esky & Denali are always AWD. It’s crowded in there. Yes, pulling the manis will make life good as well as save time in the long run for your 6.2L/L92. Consider reinstalling ARP studs that won’t break. They’re a permanent fix. Also do your plugs & wires when you’re in there doing the...

    Shocks for a plusher ride?

Arnott are great but the OP didn’t state the truck had GM’s active z55 / AutoRide from the factory. If you’re getting the hoopty on speed bumps and the local shop says they’re fine, my first question is … did the shop go take some speed bumps in your truck? Bilstein has race, street as well as...
