You my want to check out sonnax web site. They have a 4l60 heavy duty truck build. I just built my self but have not installed yet ,hope it works. But any way sonnax said beast is not the way to go. Check out their smart shell. Not trying to step on any toes! So hope no one is offended that I am...
Has anybody here built or had built the heavy duty truck 4l65e transmission on sonnax website. If so your thoughts. I have ordered all my parts for the build . It will be my first transmission but I will have help from a experienced builder!
My truck has no service lites on and rarely spins any tires but when it does I never notice traction control brake or it’s way late. Side note I live in Florida no snow and never had it in snow!
All wheel drive is not four wheel drive. I have a 06 denali xl same system. Computer should apply brakes but system sucks! Try turning off traction control and lots of gas!
Awd has a open differential in the transfer case.
4wd locks front and rear together and gear reduce aka low .
Awd should use braking system to help with traction.
Remove locking pin then axles. Remove diff but do not mix up diff shims. Drive pinion out with nut on end of pinion. Drive outer race out then drive new race in ,place outer bearing in housing, seal then replace crush sleeve and pinion nut. Set pinion preload and torque cap bolts.
I have 05 Denali xl also and I pull a 7 by 16 trailer . But wish I had 2500 .You probably haven't pulled your boat up some mountain yet? 4l65e has too small of a converter!
You will need low range for deep sand . I live in Florida we have lots of deep sand! Usually low gear is needed. I have a 05 Denali xl and you won't catch me near deep sand , kind of wish I had low maybe in to future.
A good scanner can functions test vent valve and purge solenoid. Smoke machine would help . But not always accessible. Basically there is a restriction somewhere in the vent system.
