    Uca and camber issues

See, I have read both ways now. I was checkimg out one of the "bagged nbs" threads just the other day and saw a pic of a stock upper arm flipped upside down with the ball joint mounted to the spindle crom underneath the upper spindle mounting location. Check out post number seven in this thread...

    Uca and camber issues

I have heard of the NBS Silverado guys doing the UCA flip mod. I don't know a lot about it but I was assuming they were running a special or modified spindle. Aren't the holes for the ball joints tapered? I'm assuming you would need to re-drill the hole to a larger size with a tapered drill bit...

do belltech spindles require a camber kit?

The thing with spindles is that they dont change a-arm geometry or ball joint angles at all. They only raise the spindle location which lowers the rig. So unless you have aftermarket keys that drastically change the geometry or ball joint angles you should be fine. Mike

do belltech spindles require a camber kit?

Should not need a camber kit with just the spindles. Mike

    Hey guys, I just acquired a 2006 Yukon 1500 2WD and...

Man, you probably have the worst of all the aftermarket parts on there. No wonder the ride isnt that great. DJM rear springs dont have the best reputation for ride comfort, combine that with the absolute worst shock in the industry and yeah, it will ride bad. What is your budget and are...

    Bagged NBS Tahoe/Yukon's enter

Looks good. Cant wait to see it down all the way. Where are the shocks for the front? Mike

    Bagged NBS Tahoe/Yukon's enter

Post up some pics of the completed front. Did you go custom on the front or use those Shockwave things? How low were you able to get the front? Mike

    energy suspension???

I used that stuff too, but it rains about 8 months out of the year up here in the pacific northwest. Anywhere there is a lot of rain or snow is going to require a bit more extreme measures lol...... :) Mike

    What's your next mod???

Yes, but I want to completley cut off the stock upper shock mount and fabricate a beefier adjustable upper mount. This way I can have more shock travel and still have the ability to go super low or raise it back up to stock height. I've considered bagging it as well but I dont trust the...

    What's your next mod???

Im not sure. There is a big long thread on Performancetrucks.net about coilover conversion for the Silverados but I will probably fabricate my own mounts and use the DJM lower arms that are on the Tahoe now.

    What's your next mod???

My next mod will probably be QA1 adjustables front/rear and possibly a coilover conversion for the front. I want to ditch these torsion bars SOOOOO BAAAAADDD..... Mike

best 3/5 drop kit for 04 Tahoe on 24s?

If you're on a budget you can always piece your kit together from different manufactures. I have 3" DJM arms up front, 5" Belltech 5305 springs in the back, DJM shock relocation brackets and Bilstein shocks all around. One thing to keep in mind with spindles is that you might lose some...

    energy suspension???

They will firm things up quite a bit but make sure you have a zirk fitting to keep them lubed. If not they can get squeeky. Mike

    LQ4 block

That should be really a nice upgrade to the 4.8. I'm currently doing a "budget" 5.7 build this winter. Gonna bore out a 5.3 iron block to a 5.7 specs and install an LS6 rotating assembly, 228/230 cam, ported 5.3 heads TBSS manifold etc... Gathering parts for everything now lol... If you end...

    Wilwood BBK installed

Brakes look sick against the black wheels. Nice job!! What was the total purchase price for them, no labor, if you don't mind me asking? Your Jeep looks killer too. Always have liked the SRT8 line.... Mike

    Finally got my drop done.

Looks a lot better with wheels. Are those 20's? I'd ditch those nerf bars. They don't really go with the rest of the look IMO. :) Mike

Time for a 0.030 over bore!!

Were the rings a file/fit style? Did he even bother checking the end gap or piston to cylinder wall fit? Sorry about your luck. .030 over should be fine for a 6.0. If you want to have it sonic checked, some 6.0 blocks have enough thickness in the bores to go pretty large, .065 (6.2l...

    lq4 block and heads

I believe he was talking about putting the 5.3 heads on the 6.0 block, not putting 6.0 heads on a 5.3. Putting 6.0 heads on a 5.3 would be counter productive anyway since the 317 heads have a larger combustion chamber. Mike

    LQ4 block

No reason at all man. The bare LQ4 block is the same as a bare LQ9 block. Any plans for it? Mike

They are very strong and way under rated. I've got a few high hp builds out there running mid nines at 140 ish mph. Got one on the bench right now going in a built 427ci C5 that should trap around 135-138 or so. Do any of the NNBS style trucks come with manual transmissions? If so, that will...

    6l80e to t56

Funny you posted this up. I'm collecting parts for a T56 swap for my NBS Tahoe. The SSR trans should handle the power with the larger mainshaft. Thats actually a rare trans. I would suggest a dual disk style clutch to handle the extra weight though, and a heavier flywheel too. I rebuild all...
