Nice, So would you say that the shock extenders are necessary? or is it just an option? How did it sit/ride before you installed them? and are the rubber pads you speak of the free travel mod?
No just the rubber pads that sit on top of the coils the free travel mod is cutting the bumpstop brackets off and that is highly recommended. Gives your supsension the proper amount to teavel smoothly. As for the shock extenders I wouldn't say they are necessary but I would recommend them

If you're on a budget you can always piece your kit together from different manufactures. I have 3" DJM arms up front, 5" Belltech 5305 springs in the back, DJM shock relocation brackets and Bilstein shocks all around.

One thing to keep in mind with spindles is that you might lose some turning radius and I believe you'll have to use 17" wheels or larger.

Shocks are going to make the biggest difference with regard to ride/comfort. Some people prefer a soft plush ride while others prefer a bit firmer/sportier feel.

Good luck with your quest. Your rig should look killer with a lower stance. Looks just like my gf's 2002 Tahoe, black on charcoal.

Nice truck, but bottom line is that the lower you go the harder the ride is. Stock is meant for smoothness. I got Djm drop kit on mine and it rides good just because I got the beltech shocks in all four corners. So get lowering shocks too. I'm running an older DJM 3/5 on mine and I love it. Rides great even with cheap ass monroe sensatracs for a 90s bronco up front and factory ZW7 shocks w/ extenders in rear. I had to put 0.25" spacers up front to keep the tires from rubbing the control arms (I believe newer kits don't have this problem). Ground to fender I sit 31.75" up front and 32.25" out back. It sat at 31.75" in back with some 67-72 blazer shocks but the ride was terrible so I went back with the factory shocks. It rides like a lowered truck.

SHOT YOU a pm

---------- Post added at 10:46 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:42 AM ----------

Howdie folks, new poster here my name is Eric... so I've been up and down on these boards trying to learn as much as I can about lowering these tahoes. as the title states I'm currently riding on Boss 330s 24x10s 305/35s all the way around. With that said I've decided I'm going with the 3/5 drop since it seems my tahoe sit higher than most other hoes I've seen out the box. so far I've been leaning towards the McGaughys 3/5 kit since I here they're built close to oem specs but my only concern is that I hear the rear sits almost an inch higher than the front.... Can someone whos had experience with them tell me if this is something that'll settlle with time? any other recommendations out there for a 3/5 kit? Ive saved up to 550 and that's really what I have to play with... thanks in advance.

if your going to do it once save up and get somethign your happy with

http://www.tbssowners.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=88

1) i designed the rear springs. sit lower and ride better htan any other 5 inch spring out there plus sits lower. I had even members on this site test them before production went out and they were very happy

2) the rear kit I set up complete. Djm swaybar endlinks which relocate the swaybar over when you cut the bracket off the frame and ride is nice.

3) in front the djm lowers with the belltech sp shocks i set up rides excellent and no loss in turning radius and aligns

Here goes a customers truck that was very happy with the kit i set up above
http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49997

oh and also in rear i set up the springs so you can tow. NO DEAD COILS so i set it up arond using the airlift 60742 helper bag so you can tow and load it up and will ride very well. ALso 8 13w7s in a big box with 2 batteries in back of a suburban with 5 guys in the truck had no issues wiht this kit and im sure the rear box with subs and amps and 3 guys in the rear seat was over 1300 pounds

The main thing on local customers trucks i do and also on kits on here i sell I tell them id rather they save up the money and do it right and be happy with the results.

Either way just holler back if you have any questions im around 24/7

I use McGaughy spindles for over 5yrs and 5" springs for 2. I have upgraded most of the suspension components thru the years, trial and error and trying different things to get it dialed in decent. I sit at 31 1/2" front, 32" rear.

I think my McGaughy rear springs ride good tho, but it is a lowered SUV. But the wife likes it and most people I've put in it have been impressed with how well it rides for being so low. That being said, can't personally say it rides any better or worse then other brand springs, since I haven't recently used any others to compare. Would like to try out some newer DJM/Belltech ect.. coils n feel them tho.
IF SOMEONE WANTS TO DONATE SOME DJM SPRINGS SO I CAN DO A COMPARISON. WILLING TO ACCEPT :Handshake:

Shocks play a part in overall feel and handling. Stiffer, softer, whatever's your pleasure, will affect the feel. So I would definitely suggest buying quality drop shocks. I have used a few brands, and currently running SP up front, and Doetsch Tech in rear. I would also say get an adjustable panhard bar asap when going that low. Save your RLCA from buggering up. Free travel mod, a must! No need for shock extenders with drop shocks.

I would say, just like most have, save up money, do it right the first time if you can. Cause if you skimp here or there. You are gonna end up hating the ride, no matter what brand lowering kit. And just end up spending more money down the road.

djm springs ride horrible (to me) this is why I designed my own. people wanted a spring to be low and ride well and thats why I designed my own spring.

So Tony, your new springs aren't made by DJM or Belltech?

For some reason I thought they were. My bad. Well whatever new spring I read about recently (been away from forum for a few months) sound like they ride pretty good.

My springs are my design spun by djm to my specs

Just like my trailblazer a arms are my design made by djm according my my specs

This is why no one else can get the drop spring or my modified trailblazer arms since i worked on designing and have exclusive rights to them.

I went thru testing them locally vs other brands and also sent them to 2 members here vs their drop spring they had in and both said my version was much better which was stated by their threads here.
