Need Help! My 07 Yukon XL is very very dead

Thank you. With headlights on, I'm holding 12.4 volts. Seems ok to me. I went to 3 local stores yesterday morning looking for a battery, and they were all out. At that point I pulled a battery from one of my other cars and stuck it in there. No, I don't have access to a Tech2. I assume...

Need Help! My 07 Yukon XL is very very dead

2007 Yukon XL 1500 is dead! Won't start (won't crank) The "accessory" key position doesn't turn anything on The "run" position turns the HVAC and radio on, as well as idiot lights and dash text readouts, but that's about it (The actual gages don't move - I know it has a full tank of gas, but...

    TPMS reprogramming tip

I'll add my experience from today. I had one dead sensor, which I easily replaced myself. Yes, i replaced one sensor. I know, maybe foolish not doing all four. Anyway, after replacing the bad sensor, i tried and tried to get the sensors to relearn. The only one that would learn was the...

    Upgrade OEM Transmission Cooler

Tru-Cool LPD4739 with bypass is installed! I decided to use the included hose for hookup. I would have done something nicer (AN/Braided or hard lines) but the bypass has hose barbs, so I just stuck with hose barbs and clamps for all of it. I double clamped (and triple clamped one spot)...

    Upgrade OEM Transmission Cooler

I'll have to swap out some hard tubes for hose, which doesn't excite me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Any tips or pictures of a bypass installation? I am looking at the TruCool LPD4739 with a bypass.

    5.3 Oil Consumption!!

Excellent. I don't think I'm going to get there at 190k. That's ok though, oil's cheap.

    Shifting too soon?

Yikes. I've never had my 5.3 over 4000rpm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    4L60e Transmisson Pan

As for a drain plug, its not a priority for me. I prefer to stick a clean piece of 1/4" or 5/16" tubing down the dipstick hole and siphon fluid out. It is slow (really slow with cold fluid), but I can start the siphon when I get home from work and it will pull a gallon out by morning. This...

    4L60e Transmisson Pan

If I may jump in and ask a related question, my Yukon is currently on my lift with the trans pan off. I am debating whether to do anything with the valve body while it is open. She's at 190k miles. The only minor complaint I have with the transmission is occasional slightly harsh shift from...

    Oil leak ...great.

I had pretty significant leakage, and snugging up the pan bolts did help. Not fixed, but slowed significantly. I suppose I should order a pan gasket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    5.3 Oil Consumption!!

My 07 Yukon 5.3 has around 190k on it. It really burns oil towing, and it burns more than enough just commuting to work. I recently installed a catch can and a Range AFM disabler. I started tracking my oil consumption pretty closely, and turning off the AFM certainly did not cure my...

What is the thing inside my rear axle bearing?

Sorry for the slow response. There is nothing in the guts of the differential tied to stability control. You can go open differential or any number of posi/ locking carriers. The stability control is looking at wheel speeds. I will say that I am thrilled with the Eaton truetrac. I...

    Help? Harsh shift from 2 to 3, 07 YukonXL 5.3 (4 speed)

Interesting, thanks. Did the idler gear fail because the transmission was shifting hard, or did the idler gear cause hard shifts? I would guess the gear failed as result of improper shifting.

What is the thing inside my rear axle bearing?

If you haven't done differential setup before, I'd atleast get an expert opinion on what it needs. Grinding doesn't sound good. A whine or howl from the bearings or gears is a typical first sign of a problem. How many miles are on it? If you plan to do any gear or bearing work...

2007 Tahoe Tranny Drain and Fill

I have had good luck sticking a long piece of 1/4 hose down the dipstick tube and siphoning oil out. Haven't tried it on my Yukon, but I've done it to swap a gallon or so of trans fluid every year on my other vehicles.

    Oil catch cans

Just ordered a new one last night myself. I also bought a Range AFM disabler. My oil consumption is a bit ridiculous.

    Help? Harsh shift from 2 to 3, 07 YukonXL 5.3 (4 speed)

My 07 YukonXL 1500 (5.3 / 4 speed) shifts a bit hard from 2 to 3 under light throttle. I notice it a parking lot or residential streets, or any time I'm not getting on it. It's not really bad, but I notice it doesn't seem right. She's got 188,000 on the clock now. Anyone else been through...

What is the thing inside my rear axle bearing?

Thanks. I feel stupid for not figuring that out. On my bearing question, I ended up checking the position with gear marking compound. They were definitely not up against a step in the housing. The new ones are right back where the old ones were. I finished the install this morning, and...

    Oil consumption

Ok. Thanks Ed. My 07 Yukon has around 186k on it. I've only had it for 3k miles, and I burned about 2 quarts of oil in that time frame. :doh2: Half or more of those miles were towing a 6k lb camper up and down hills, and it was mostly in tow/haul mode. IIRC, the DOD/AFM is disabled in...
