Could be helpful to someone out there

This is a good watchout to be aware of. The qeustion now is, how to prevent it. Harbison, did you fix yourself, or take to a shop? Are the lifters sludged up?

What is the thing inside my rear axle bearing?

No, I don't mean the axle. To be more accurate, the thingy I'm wondering about is just inboard of (not insdide) the axle bearing. I'm in the process of rebuilding the rear end on my 2007 Yukon. I started hearing bearing noise, and decided I better tear it apart. I have all new Timken...

What to do with the G80

Nice. I'm definitely going truetrac. My poor Yukon hasn't moved in two weeks, as I haven't gotten around to ordering any parts yet. I'm not driving it again until I fix it. I'm thinking I'll do the install myself. My only hesitation is pinion shims. I don't enjoy taking pinions in and...

What to do with the G80

Now that I read your sig line, I see you went with a truetrac. I'm ordering one. Now I just need to decide whether I want the hassle of installing it myself or not.

What to do with the G80

Eaton's website shows another design for "Detroit Locker", so maybe I'm misled by Summit.... I'll call the guy back tomorrow to see if the truetrac gets a thumbs up.

What to do with the G80

bumping an old thread (hopefully better than starting a new one...). My 07 has just developed some bearing noise, so I'm going to tear it apart (or possibly break down and pay a professional). The highly reputable shop I went to said stay away from the "Detroit Locker", which I believe is the...

    07 Yukon CV Axle differences?

I was in the same boat and installed two Cardone 66-1430 axles from Amazon about a year ago. At the time, they were about $50 a piece with free shipping. The same one fit both left and right sides (I wasn't 100% sure about that before I got them installed successfully). They seem great to me...

    heated seat not working....

Same situation on my 07 XLT. I've read a bunch of threads, and this is the most info I've found that matches my issue. Bottom heats, back doesn't. Has anyone been able to troubleshoot the system? Wiring diagrams?

    Fluid Film for my Yukon

I have tried many rust control products over the years, and now I'm trying Fluid Film on the Yukon. I washed the underside before putting it into winter storage. (Yes. It's packed away in my heated garage). It has been drying for months, so it should be dry by now! I ordered a 5 gal...

    Oil leak?

Cool. I'll do that. ---------- Post added at 06:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:21 PM ---------- Maybe for a while. It seems to be marginal design. ---------- Post added at 06:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:22 PM ---------- Thanks. I was thinking the same. I...

    Oil leak?

Some does. I was also changing my oil and filter, so I had mine drained anyway. I believe it is on the clean side of the oil filter, so the anti-drainback valve in the filter may normally have more oil trapped than I saw. Even so, it should only be what is trapped in the oil drillings in...

    Oil leak?

Just ran across a receipt from the PO. This gasket was replaced at 136k miles (184k now).

09 Tahoe Oil Consumption issue solved

Great info. I dug through the receipts for the 07 I bought last fall. Luckily it has been updated, and they also replaced a deflector in the oil pan. ??

    Oil leak?

Same leak here (i think). It leaks pretty badly. I just pulled my oil cooler port cap off. (No cooler unfortunately). The gasket looks fine, so I'm hoping this is where it is leaking. Thoughts? Right stuff gasket sealer? I've had excellent results with it.

    Lumbar System Issue

I have a stripped out motor if you have one to sell. I need the in/out motor (right side, looking at the back of the seat). I guess need 5 more posts before I can PM you!

    Power Lumbar Broken

Me too The 07 Yukon XL I just purchased has the same issue. The lumbar was stuck out, and I didn't like it. I pulled the rear panel off of the drivers seat and drilled out the rivet that holds the lumbar in/out adjustment motor. After removing the motor and cable (not very difficult), I took...

    New to me 2010 Denali

This upgrade has been on my list since I got my 07 Yukon a few weeks ago. I will have to look for one. Thanks

    Bought a Yukon XLT

Thanks for the welcome. The oil level did not move during my 600 mile drive home with it, but I'll keep watching it. It was pretty well cared for. I have a pile of receipts for service. At about 120k, it had two instances of fouled plugs. The dealer put top end cleaner in the...

    Bought a Yukon XLT

Hey guys. I just bought an 07 Yukon XLT this past friday. Being from snow and salt country, I travelled 500 miles south to find a nice used one. She's got 182k on the clock, so hopefully it's good for a few more. It probably won't be a daily driver, but it is so nice that I may end up...
