I have the improved GM valve cover called for in the TSB, and a cheap chicom catch can on our 07 Denali 6.2 for 5 yrs. No regrets. It catches about 2 oz per 5000 miles.
whenever I clean the throttle body on all of our cars, I do it by hand with a rag soaked in mineral spirits. I do a spray cleaning of the MAF sensor the CRC MAF cleaning aerosol at the same time. I never need to do a relearn procedure.
E85 (ethanol) like methanol, attracts water, and some of the ethanol (like unleaded) ends up in the oil in the crankcase and depletes the additve package. And inevitably some of the gunk that is set free also ends up in the oil.

07-10 Yukons & Tahoes came from the factory with defective driver side valve covers that cause the engine to burn/consume oil. The fix is a new improved valve cover, GM P/N 12570427 for the 07-08 engines. Here's a link the the GM TSB Technical Service Bulletin...
