What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Keep an eye out at your local pull-a-part. My LKQ has had a couple (literally, two) of GMT900s in the past month. I scored some spare trim pieces and a non-Denali forward bin for about $50.

Getting rid of that stupid forward bin with the doors is one of the best mods I've done. It's hard to tell from the pics...what are the replacement trim pieces? Are they just painted black?

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I think 24's are the ideal size for this body style. I wish I could run them. But I live in SC, the pothole capitol of the US (or maybe second behind Michigan). Everyone I know who've run 24's has had to have at least one wheel repaired. Maybe I should move.

    Road Trip Tuning?

I'm not sure if your comment was directed at me or not, but... I was particularly interested in tunes for life because I planned to gradually upgrade my Yukon over a period of years. Not everyone can do every engine mod they want within a single year. Still on my list are headers, exhaust and...

I doubt that would wick into the crack, which is what was asked. However, it would make a good top coat. I have some cold-rolled steel bar coated in POR-15 that's been outside for 20 years and still looks good.

I would think something thinner, that would wick into the space better, would last longer. Maybe some water-thin (or slightly thicker) epoxy resin? Epoxy's only enemy is UV, so under the truck it should hold up well.

    Road Trip Tuning?

Time will tell. But I think this is a big mistake. Local tuner shops have caught up with the technology, and can provide local service at competitive rates (at least that's true where I live). They also can offer dyno tuning and other services with a much shorter timeline than sending stuff...

    Cracked Dash

So someone I've never even met could bust my balls about it, apparently. I have read that it happens, leading me to be suspicious. I felt it was worth mentioning, provided I couched my statement in such a way as to convey it was merely spoken about. Thus the "some say" part of my statement. I'm...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I've done that in a pinch. But I have a utility trailer that I use for most big stuff. Like I said, the SWB chassis is a better driving experience for me, so I made the right choice. I just don't get the Avy hatred. It's not bad looking at all.

Admittedly, I've got no direct evidence either, which is why I chose the words I did. When someone posts that "fact" it's always someone they know. I ask for proof, and it never materializes. So hopefully it doesn't really happen.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I like the Avalanche. I almost bought one. I wanted a '13 only Black Diamond edition because the plastic was painted body color. In my opinion they should have all come that way. I liked the idea of being able to carry sheet goods, and having a built-in bed cover. But once I drove a Yukon, I...

There are covers, like Dashskin, that get good reviews. And a case can be made that a replacement dash is better. It depends on your priorities... Dashskin: - Less expensive - Easier install - Proven to last a long time - Looks less attractive than OEM - Interferes with...

I know you already bought OEM. But I didn't see anyone answer your question. That part number works on both sides regardless of 2WD/4WD/AWD. My Yukon is AWD and it fits.

I have a slightly older version of that blower. I love the cruise control button, too. Mine doesn't have the black guard over the air intake like yours. I guess that would keep it from sucking my shirt against it, and choking airflow.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

My college roommate drove an old Skylark convertible. He didn't bother locking the doors because it was cheaper to replace a stereo than a sliced convertible top. His head unit was in one of those removable housings that he'd lock in the glovebox whenever he left the car. Nevertheless...

From what I've seen, some are able to leave it and just adjust the wheel and shift lever all the way down. Others drop the column to the seat to make more room.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

North Carolina just passed a law that makes that illegal. It remains to be seen how vigorously they enforce it. South Carolina has a similar law making its way through the legislature. This stupidity can't go away fast enough. EDIT: Seriously, of all the stupid, embarrassing things SC is...

Headlights: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088C4KCM9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The lights come with bulbs. But it's such a pain to change them, I went ahead and got known good quality ones to replace whatever came in them (probably Chiwanese). I used Halogen PIAA...

    Cracked Dash

It is possible that there are year differences. I found out today when I pulled my dash trim to wrap it that the parts on my 2012 are different from the 2008 I pulled parts from at the junkyard. On the 2008, the trim and right-side vent are one assembly. On my 2012 the right-side vent is...

All done. I would say it should have come from the factory like this. But then everybody would have it, except for that crazy dude who put woodgrain vinyl over it, lol.
