Oil change w/Mobil 1 and Microguard filter because that's all they had at O'Reilly's.

Should have taken 20 mins to do, but the last person who put on the filter used the 1,000 lb./ft. setting. I had to drive a screwdriver through the filter, then hammer a 12" pry bar through it, just to get it to spin. Then the giant channel-lock pliers I had were enough to spin the thing off. What a nightmare. But hey, now that's done.

Question: after resetting the dash monitor for oil change life, how long is the computer programmed to go between intervals? Is it strictly mileage based, or is there a formula for engine hours & miles factored together with fancy maths?
factory "oil light" setting is 5000 miles, but I wouldn't wait that long, if you stick with 3000 miles and reset it each time the light should never come on

I believe the DTC oil life eminder is supposedly taking into account driving conditions, etc. I tested it a few times and it never got down to triggering a reminder in less than 9K miles and the oil was always very dark before the reminder, so I quit using it and went back to 5K mile interval for oil and filter change.
maybe it does depend on how you drive it, mine have always triggered at 5000 miles

I think that is a big factor in its calculation. Other than when I was towing, my engine has always loafing. I frankly never liked the AI service stuff. I am sure the engineers have it all figured out, but for me, I just like pencils and paper. :)

That's the new plan.

Talk to me about your headlights. Your sig image is cool; what are they?
Headlights:

The lights come with bulbs. But it's such a pain to change them, I went ahead and got known good quality ones to replace whatever came in them (probably Chiwanese). I used Halogen PIAA bulbs (H7 and H1), because LEDs get mixed reviews.

Light output is outstanding; far better than OEM. The beam pattern has a very sharp cutoff right where it should be for projectors. However, there are hot spots, and a few areas adjacent to the cutoff with blue color shift. So they're not perfect. But I can live with it, considering the improvement in visibility and how much better they look than the fogged OEM ones I had before.

The only thing I would change, if I could, is that the DRLs are the low beam projectors, NOT the LED bars. Turning on the fogs lights the LEDs (as in my sig pic), so I do that. I need to either rewire them to operate the way I want, or just do the "fogs always on" mod.

It's been nice driving the truck these last few days. The new suspension has settled down and the ride keeps getting better. Playing around with aiming the headlights and fogs, will do some more fine tuning tonight which will give me another excuse to get out and drive it!
I just did mine last night. Figured since I installed the front push bumper and rear spare I would check it. I used Chris Fix's vid:

It definitely factors in other things. When my radiator blew up and I overheated it, it dropped the oil life from ~55% to 0% in a matter of minutes.

I pulled out the MAF sensor and cleaned it off during my (whenever I want 'cause I work from home; give me a beer) lunch break, and on my way to pick up a package the USPS didn't feel like delivering the truck may actually have benefitted from it. Perceptibly slight more pep. Could just be my imagination, but I'd like to think the 5 minutes of work resulted in something positive.

Thanks for sharing. Those are a little out of my price range, but it's nice to know there's options should I win a $5000 scratch-off, or something.

I had very good results with LED bulbs in my 2005 Armada, and may look into those as an option. My lights are currently fine/OK, so they'll work, but there's always room for improvement.
