What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Hey! I'd put that back. That's not a cable, it's a fusible link. Or at least install a megasfuse inline (60 or 80 Amp, I can double check). Bad things can AND WILL happen when people replace fuses with cables. As for the alternator, look for ur RPO code: KW1 - 160 AMP KG3 - 145 AMP Cheers

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

So did I. But the rep on the phone said that Escalade is different (I don't know how exactly), so no luck :-( But anyway, thanks for a lead. At least, we tried!

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I actually ordered them in the morning and just got a call from Boostautoparts. They said that these key fobs WILL NOT WORK on my 2005 Escalade EXT, so I had to cancel the order. Now I am confused, somebody is wrong, and I am not sure who exactly :-)

Are all 6.0 GMC Denali's AWD? Longevity of AWD?

AWD in 6.0 Denali is actually the same as in Escalade. It's the simplest and, respectively, the most reliable set up. Only 1 gear, no locks. Also, since the torque is split between front & rear axle at all times, less wear on the rear axle. My transfer case at 164000 miles is doing good. Yes...

    Pavel's 2005 Escalade EXT build

Ground floor actually, but it's on the top of the hill, near Twin Peaks. But I moved out already. The apartment was very nice, but for 2 people and a German Shepherd Dog 1BR is waaay to small. Now I live in a 3 story townhouse in South San Francisco with my own garage, 2BR, 2.5BATH, but rent is...

    Pavel's 2005 Escalade EXT build

There are actually wireless camera, but I didn't want to add complexity where it's not needed. Plus, they all are made in some Chinese basement, which doesn't contribute towards reliability either, The fewer points of failure, the better!

I think u've got a Suburban. Its so much easier to run the wires on SUV than on SUT. BUt it's usually done under the door frame trims, where floor panels meet door frames

    Pavel's 2005 Escalade EXT build

I took out a right bed panel (a major PITA!!!) and ran the wires their, then connected power lock wires to door lock wires, so it opens and closes with the other doors. And the camera cable runs all the way to the dashboard. I didn't want to run wires on the outside, as it would be subjected to...

    Pavel's 2005 Escalade EXT build

Rear view camera I installed a rear view camera in the tailgate. That was a PITA!!! Some engineer (if that's the right word) at GM decided to make tailgate out of fiberglass. To put the parts of the tailgate together they used double sided sticky tape. To add insult to injury, GM didn't put a...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yeah, the first one looks like mine, but it's outdated now. Joying actually recently offered an upgraded core board win Android 8 , more RAM and ROM, so I got and installed that. Also, I bought directly from their site - that way you can go back to them for support. They are pretty responsive...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I installed a small black box to retain the factory chimes. It's not expensive at all. The head unit connects directly to steering wheel controls (I literally cut 2 wires off BCM and connected 1 of them to the ground and another one to the headunit)

Audio Head unit: Joying JY-UM135N2, later upgraded (manufacturer offered upgrade in a form of a new core board, I didn't have to replace the whole unit). Specs: Android 8.0 Oreo, 4GB RAM+32GB ROM, 128Gb SD card (bought separately for music and maps), Bluetooth, rear view camera. It a royal PITA...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I've actually done this project more than a year ago, but only cared to take pix last weekend. This is an Android unit, I think it was around $200. So far, I couldn't be happier. It does everything I need and beyond. I installed a bunch of apps from Google Play, including Waze, Torque Pro...

It depends on how the parts come. For example, brake pads come per axle, calipers and rotors individually.

Factory Service Manuals - Anyone have them?

Loooong time ago I downloaded don't ask me where the GM full Service manual for all GM domestic vehicles from 1980 till 2009. This is the same software that dealers are using. It's a Virtual Machine, one would need a VMWare player to run it. PM me and I will point you out in a right direction.
