Heck yeah!!!! I have 314,*** miles on mine and I will keep it going as long as I can. Forget buying something new. Too expensive, not as reliable and won't last as long. I HATE car notes! And yes she has some rust but I will have my body guy handle that in the spring next year.
Had the heater assembly lines replaced. Went from the water pump to the heater core. Noticed a slow leak from watching my expansion tank. No water in the oil and no oil in the water. Did a deeper dive to try to find the leak and all the coolant was leaking on top of the skid plate! Nothing on...
I have that unit in my Tahoe and the temperature dials that select the temperature are not working 100%. They don't select the correct temps and you really have to work with it to get it to work at the right temp. Where can I buy another unit to replace this one?
This weekend I had both front and rear diff's new fluid, transfer case new fluid and oil and filter change. Made sure all tires were at 40 lbs. Runs smooth as silk now. Think I am going to do the plugs next weekend. Used Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30, and Valvoline for everything else.
Sprayed my rocker panels with the rust stop from Rustoleum. Let dry then Duplicolor to match. Going to get a price to have all that repaired this year. But you can hardly see it!
Put her in the shop to get the gear shifter fixed. Felt something give way when I put her in gear yesterday. Also a couple of other small things. Getting her back tomorrow.
Man I am LATE to the party but I would keep it!!! My 2004 has 32*,*** miles. Put a new (Jasper Reman) in 60,000 miles ago. She is running strong still. Yes, she has some rust but that can be fixed. Did you keep it?
I can tell you take that "hook" off that holds the spare up there. It is to prevent an accidental drop off. However mine had my tire stuck! I had to take it too my indy to have him put a new one on without that "hook".
I would say you have al the bases covered for a good daily driver! My baby has 304,6** miles on her as of this morning. I love driving this truck. I am with you on not having all the luxury doo-dads on her. Nice, simple driving vehicle. And rides smooth aslo!
That is great! Yeah I am with you. I am keeping my truck forever. It is like a labor of love. Plus I get a kick out of fixing it up. I will be doing some body work next year. I want all the mechanics done first.
All new rear brakes. Calipers, rotors and pads. Going to have the emergency brake assembly done next week and front pads. Doing a big refurbish on her.
