    1999 2 door tahoe lift...Question!

Bowtie is right. Go lower than 4.10. That's what I have and I wish I had gone 4.56 or 4.88. I make my self feel better by saying I have 4Lo in reserve if I need lower gearing. I have the RCD 6" lift and a 3' body lift. I only rub if I come down hard on the front and the wheels are turned...

    How do I fix this?!

Jumped the truck... The roof rack didn't survive. Well it did but the rack, spare tire and lights all landed separate from the truck. And none of the guys got any pics or video. :mad3: I'm thinking the only way for me to fix this and prevent it from happening again is to pull the...

1996 Tahoe 4x4 will not move

That does sound like a horrible problem. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me shows up to help. I would first start by draining some of the fluid out of the transmission and transfer case and see if there is anything odd in there. Like metal bits.

    im planning to..

My lift did lower the diff. I got them because I was tired of breaking CV's off-road, period. Not just the angles.

BFG All Terrains or Nitto Terra Grapplers

AT's are gonna pack up with mud more, the tread is cut closer together. If you want to tackle mud then you get mud terrains. AT's balance off-and on-road characteristics while mud-terrains lean towards more aggressive tread for more aggressive off-roading sacrificing on-road side of things.

    Torsion Bars/ What are they?

You can break weaker CV's over and over again and end up paying 1K total over time any ways. Or you can pay 1K at once and not have to worry about it any more. It's like an investment. I got tired of breaking CV's so I upgraded.

BFG All Terrains or Nitto Terra Grapplers

Why not go to BGF Mud Terrains? They have pretty good road manners(better than the Nitto Mud Grapplers I used to have) and are outstanding off road.

    Custom Rear Bumper

I think you'd be fine using the bumper as an air tank. I know guys who race that use their roll cages as tanks. Not only do you save weight/space by not having a dedicated tank but you'll know if you have a crack, so lost strength. The bumper won't explode or anything crazy it'll hiss and not...

    Rear diff swap compatibility

The internals from a four door 10 bolt will swap with the internals from a two door 10 bolt. You don't have to upgrade to the 14 bolt rear end if you're not really going to abuse it, i.e. Sudden throttle inputs, off-roading/shock loading. If you found an axle that already has rotors in the...

4L60E Tranny wont shift out of park

If they are on the same switch, then the problem lies between the switch and the transmission. Loose wire?

    BIG Update

My truck, a '98 two door, the lift instructions said I may need a new front drive shaft. But the yoke was long enough I don't need it. Even if you do. Lift it, pull the front shaft. And then save up the 400 bucks for a new one. Shouldn't take to long as long as you got a job.

    black95's truck kissed a hyundai

That ain't a kiss. That's straight on fucking. This is what happened when I kissed a car. That car was totaled. Damage to the engine I guess. Me, cracked the plastic over the bumper. While she waited for a tow truck I left and drove to the bar to meet my friends.

    2wd to 4wd

What's with all this 2500 stuff? Why not just try some new drilled and slotted rotors that you know will fit your truck? Plus some stainless tell brake lines. You can even go bigger with a performance brake booster and some new calipers with more pistons. There are kits out there to swap your...

    2wd to 4wd

You could keep her two wheel drive and do a long travel set up in front. Then maybe some Deaver or Atlas springs in the back. A nice pre-runner type set up. A good long travel suspension would probably cost less then trying to convert your truck to a stock 4X4 configuration. And pre-runners and...
