    Deciding on 6" Lift Kit

The CV spacers do not increase track width... The CV shafts bolt into the hub/knuckle assembly. I needed to run front spacers because my 17" wheels did not clear the aftermarket steering knuckles with the non torsion drop kit.

    Oil pressure gauge

Gauge has always stayed pinned when running (or perhaps key forward) when the sensor has been bad for me. Obviously it isn't an engine issue but could be the stepper motor as said above.

    LS heads

I'm not familiar with the 4.8 or even modifying the 5.3 but AFAIK the issue starts with the 6.2 heads on a 5.3/4.8 because of the bore.

    LS heads

Those are the last 3 numbers on the casting. They decipher what the heads are off of. Depending on what you are looking to do you can gain some flow, compression or both; either will make additional HP.

    Deciding on 6" Lift Kit

I'm going out on a limb here but wouldn't any non torsion drop lift increase track width? And why the opposition to running spacers? 40k miles on the cheapest alumniu ones I could find with zero issues.

Does the 2005 6.0 have the Oil Pressure filter?

I am so confused. I don't ever recall seeing a screen anywhere in the oil system other than the pickup tube. The barbell I am referring to is this...

    Suspension Lift and Spacers?

It doesn't hurt. If you look in the picture I posted you can see how the rear axle sits closer to the rear passenger doors rather than center in the wheel well. Cosmetically, it would look better centered like it is from the factory. AFAIK, any lift will do this unless it has some control arm...

Does the 2005 6.0 have the Oil Pressure filter?

Yes. Behind the plug is the oil pressure barbell.

Newly acquired 04, needs first oil change, but?

FWIW, I have always been told the reason vehicles leak switching from conventional to synthetic is due to synthetic being a finer oil. It's not eating any gaskets or seal. Obviously the two can be mixed with no negative effect other than deteriorating the longevity of synthetic oil.

    Suspension Lift and Spacers?

Nope. The RC kit comes with everything. It pushes the rear axle forward (you can see it in my picture) and it would take $400 in control arms to realign it. The kit comes with a panhard bar relocation bracket to recenter the rear but if you add spacers down the road and crank like I just did...

    Suspension Lift and Spacers?

Supreme Suspension has it's adjustable panhard bar on sale for $99 shipped. I just purchased one but I don't have time to install it. Nothing screams cheap obvious cheap quality but as stated, I've yet to actually use it.

I'm slowly warning my wife of my upcoming purchase, lol! Definitely will be purchasing a Redcat Earthquake.

    93BlkOnGreen's RC Toys

93blkongreenpro, I am serious about wanting a Christmas present for myself; perhaps cyber Monday or black Friday will have good deals and I'll buy it earlier. As stated, I had a Traxxas Revo years ago and a T Maxx (2.4?) when it first came out probably 15 years ago. I've had a hand full of...

    93BlkOnGreen's RC Toys

I wanna buy an RC truck... I've been out of the scene since the Traxxas Revo. Maybe it'll be a Christmas present to myself!

    finally got the lift done!

Wow I missed that one, Chubbs... The UCA is literally on the bump stops!

    285/70 or 315/70 17’s??

Uh... 315s on 6" lift and 1.5" wheel spacers required some pretty heavy trimming on a Z71.... And it still rubbed on full turns. It took 7.5" total lift to stop.

What do you guys think of this supercharger?

"This s/c unit is capable of flowing enough air for over 500hp. Depending on what's underneath it." It clearly states that it depends what's underneath it... You could make a streetable 400hp from a LQ9. So this supercharger under ideal conditions is capable of only flowing 500 HP? Anyway...

What do you guys think of this supercharger?

They can support up to 500 HP? Please... You can run a donkey d*ck cam in an LQ9 and make close to that!

How To: Lapping Valves on LS Heads At Home

While I generally won't correct somebody, this should be addressed to prevent others from doing this. I'm not saying he meets the criteria for the following post but this information should be aired out. Im not the oldest or most experienced guy but I do have a drag racing background and have...

    5.3 or 6.0?

Hydro locked can be very bad from water or coolant; rust on the cylinder walls, crank, pitted bearings, bent rods, etc. Locked can be a broken rod; damaged lower portion of the cylinder wall/block. Usually this isn't an issue because the skirt doesn't travel this far down but it depends on a...

    hi i have a 2002 gmc yukon 4x4 3/4 ton with a 6.0.

Unbolt the #4 coil and replace it with the #6 coil... Does the scanner now say #6 misfires? If so, it's a bad coil pack.

    5.3 or 6.0?

What is this unaddressed issue with the 6.0? If it's oil pressure related, you probably don't want it... I have personally seen two spin cam bearings and waste the block. 6.0>5.3 If you want tremendous amount of top end power go with LQ9 flat tops (preferably 2006+ which are usually fly cut)...

    Suspension Lift and Spacers?

I have the upgraded RC shocks... Don't remember the name of them. When this truck was at a true 6", it rode phenomenally... Better than my 2500HD cranked on Billsteins rides. I'm sure Billsteins would be better but I have no complaints. As far as kit quality, I've had three kits now. The new...

Question about doing oil changes without removing drain plug

Aren't these pans cast aluminum? Your average Joe can't weld aluminum and the ones who can, probably can't weld cast aluminum. If the OP wants a used oil pan, I might have one I can give away for free if he pays shipping.

Got a great deal on tires, thought I'd share.

Quick update on the mud tire version of the tires, they have a very soft sidewall. They make my lifted Tahoe feel like a boat around turns (much like a truck without a rear sway bar would feel). They are much heavier than the old MasterCraft MXT tires; stopping, acceleration and fuel mileage is...
