Yup. New cap, rotor, wires, plugs, zero'd timing, CASE relearn, adjusted valves, vacuum steady, cleaned maf, seafoamed, etc... the list goes on.
Have you ever seen pressure bounce like that before?
I bought an AutoCal from Black Bear Tuning. It comes with an initial tune and a few more for future changes. The software is EFILive. Tuning is a real science and experience is necessary. Unless you are going to devote a lot of time and energy to really zone in on tuning, then imo get it done by...
Hi all,
I'm battling a p0300 issue and have come down to fuel pressure. This is what it looks like on video. Shouldn't the gauge be somewhat steady? Also it looks a bit low to me.
What do you guys think? Just about everything on the truck is new as far as sensors, cap rotor wires etc...
Sorry no close-ups. I did a lot of reading on here and other forums and the conclusion was that the push rods will rub because of the 1.6 geometry. I would look into it more. Maybe it's only specific to vortec heads?
Nope, push rods are the same. I went with a stock 1.5 ratio cause you have to elongate the area in the heads for the push rods of you go with 1.6 ratio. I think it just makes sense to have it full roller since the cam is anyway. I'm not sure about HP but this truck does move well for the weight...
Okay this may sound stupid but I just checked my fuel pressure with an actron guage and it bounces really crazy between 50-55 PSI. I have never seen a gauge vibrate between readings that much. Is that normal for a Vortec or is my fuel pump going.
Key on PSI 60, key off PSI 45, barely any...
Hello all. I just want to share my experience with my install. I purchased a set of Scorpion Roller Rockers1.5 ratio part# SCP1035BL. These are really nice and made in the USA. All went well. They are really well made AND fit under stock covers! This was a big plus for me cause taller covers...
P.S. put the screw driver in on an angle to pierce opposite sides to get good leverage and not rip the side apart like a beer can...learned that the hard way.
I have a set of JBA stainless shorty's and they have been great. They bolt right up to the the stock exhaust. Long headers are probably prefered but require custom exhaust.
So I've been having lock up issues for a while and thought i'd change the solenoid but there seems to be two types. One that takes a plug connection then another that has two wires hanging off of it. Any idea if one is for an early 4l60e? Got a 99.
Thanks
Yup. I have a Scan Gauge II hooked up all the time. When ever the code pops up, I just reset it. Happens just about every time I use the auto starter AFTER driving somewhere. Even though the spider is new, I'm going to check the fuel pressure again to see if it leaks down too quick.
