It's supposed to dim when there are headlights behind you...it doesn't unless the headlights of the vehcle behind me are VERY bright. The mirror used to work (dim) well, now it doesn't.
2001 Tahoe. The auto dimming only dims with really bright lights behind me (or if I shine a flashlight into the sensor). How can I get this mirror working well again?
Just replaced the Reg/Motor on my 01 Tahoe this weekend. You can just replace the motor, but just as easy to replace the entire assy (might as well since you have it torn down anyway). You can buy it for around $100 (or less as some here have noted)
Posted this in the general area and didn't get any useable replies (at least none that I could understand) . I found this flap in the front right (passenger) wheel well behind the skirt (or in front of the passenger door) (2001 Tahoe). I have no idea where it came from. It seems to be weighted...
I have 115K on my 01. Bought new pads @ 80K thinking they were close to needing replacing. Took them back when I pulled the wheels. I suppose they still have 75% of the material left on them.

Not likely, had to take the clips from the wheel well plastic to get it out. the piece is about 3"x2.5". you can tell it is hinged at the top (where it tore off) so I'm guessing some sort of fresh air exhaust. I didn't take all the wheel well out so couldn't get a good look up in there.
