Install done:Speakers, amps and aux inputs Oh my!

Thanks! No I don't have any kind of video of the sound. It is not the loudest setup out there but it sounds good at regular levels. I do need to mess with the sub, at louder volumes it rattles a bit against the factory plastic.

It will recognize the vehicle when you plug it in and install the correct program. I never did put it on my Yukon, just too worried about it dooming my trans. Still using it in my Express van, went from 10 mpg to just under 13 using premium. Deffinatly worth the cost of the programmer and the...

    2nd row removal?

There is a number of bolts that attach to the floor. You will have to remove various plastic covers. Also there are two bolts that attach the two seats to each other on the rear leg. It will take some time to remove them.

Looks nice! If you have some time could you take a better daytime picture of the bumper to grille gap where it drops down in the center?

    03 Yukon denali Aux input

This is what I used: http://www.installer.com/item/display_item.php?it=AAI-GM9 I have the slave cassette, but the item does state it will work with slave cd also. I'm not 100% sure it will work for you but it might be worth a try.

Install done:Speakers, amps and aux inputs Oh my!

Thanks guys, it took longer then I expected. Doesn't help having a 18 mo son that limits my time to work on it, took me just over a week working about 2 hrs per evening on it. I love taking my time with installs and making it look as clean and like it came from the factory as possible.

Four channel amp for six speakers

I dunno, may change to a set of components in the front doors. I was making use of stuff I had lying around. Yes the sub is 2 ohm dvc.

Four channel amp for six speakers

I was trying to use stuff that I already had, the 5 1/4 components fit nicely in the rear pillars. The 6 1/2 3 ways went perfect in the doors and I added an extra set of tweeters in the front doors. I wired the rear doors and rear pillars together. Everything sounds pretty good at this point...

    Sierra Clip on Yukon

Did you just bolt up the new grille? Was there anything else needed? I was looking on Lmc Truck and it looks like there are different part numbers for the headlight supports, are they needed for the swap?

    Sierra Clip on Yukon

The color matched looks nice on that truck. My thoughts started when I stated looking into a new grille surround, my current one is starting to show it's age. The chrome is worn off right where rain runs off of the hood. This is how it looks now... I do like the chrome on the front end...

    Sierra Clip on Yukon

I have been really liking the look of the 03-07 Sierra front ends. I was wondering what it would take to do a swap onto my 01 XL. Does anyone know what it might involve? Looks like it could be just the grille and bumper, maybe some of the support structure. Any ideas?

    Where is my amp???

I found that separate wires for the tweets and mids meet up at a plug behind the side kick panels. Two pairs on one side of the plug and one pair on the other.

    After Market Tail Lights Gap

I didn't notice that on mine, will have to check. ---------- Post added at 07:00 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:28 AM ---------- Just took a look, mine have the same gap. IMO it isn't noticeable, seems to blend in with the shadow at the edge of the light. That's inexpensive aftermarket...

Got about 90% of the sound system hooked up and tested before I started to put some panels back. I also did the antenna delete mod, ran a wire up the door weather strip and put in the plate w/o hole.

Stuck, Factory HU with aftermarket Amps

Background: 2001 Yukon XL with non Bose, premium sound with sub I have been working on putting in my amps and new speakers. I am planing on keeping the factory HU. I have a hi/lo converter to splice into the system but am having a tough time figuring where to do it. The factory amp seems...

    Bully Dog GT

I bought one about a month ago. Got it over some of the others because it covered not only my XL but also my 2008 express work van. I decided to try it on the van first and love it. On the newer vehicles you don't have to pull fuses so it makes reinstalling a new tune easy and only takes 2-3...

Continued work on the sound system, pulled all plastic panels and seats out. Then got a head start on fishing some of the wires.
