2018 when the 10 speed comes out... everyone will diss the 8 speed and say that it shifted like a honda 300 4wheeler

That is not a clunk, its an audible transmission engagement notification LOL...
I was never debating that the new 8-speed might be the most super awesome fantastic transmission to ever grace a GM product...I am all for improvement and updates (to a point). I was only defending the fact that I have never experienced these issues with the two 6 speeds that I have owned...
Lol "outdated"
Coming from the 4L60e days, 700r4, th350, th400... The six speed is pretty damn sweet..
I dont have any of these "gear holding" issues.
The six speed proved to be a pretty solid transmission and outside of this thread, i havent really heard anything negative about them.
What...
Well that would make sense... The o2 sensors will not read correctly until they reach a certain temp

Still though.. This just screams a ground issue.. I dunno..
Lets see if the replacements fix the issue!
Jeez... Driving in 4 HI on dry pavement is about the worst advice I have ever heard...
That kinda goes along the lines of draining your oil and running it a few hundred miles...
High oil pressure?? No problem... Drain that oil.. We will just grind out those bearing tolerances in a jiffy
I only take my vehicles into the shop for the free oil changes for life program they have. They use the AC Delco syn blend oil... and I bring my own filter..
I liked the additive package on the AC Delco oil, so I decided to save a few bucks from doing my own Mobile 1 oil changes.
Other...
ouch... what happened to the days of picking up a junk yard 5.3 for 750 bucks and dropping it in on a saturday?
You could still pick up a full gasket kit and new mounts.. clean it all up.. and sit under 1300 bucks..
I caught mice in our workshop overseas when I was working in Iraq by leaning a water bottle against a parts cage and putting some food in the bottle.. they would climb up the bottle and drop down inside, but could not get out.
Those desert mice were tough to eradicate!
I think Dorman makes a replacement.. ROCK AUTO ftw
The PO on my 2005 Sierra replaced it under warranty... that truck still had play in the steering wheel like an 85 truck. But NO CLUNK! lol
GM... The steering shaft, cluster, 4wd switch, blower motor resistor... :emotions122: They knew they...
Well... looks like that idea is out.
Thank you for not making me test my theory. :Handshake:
I believe I have a hydrographics shop downtown that I saw today, might stop in there and check out my options. I would love the z71 brushed aluminum trim if I could find it.
I searched around ebay...
Have your battery tested at a local auto parts store. Your vehicle is so new I wouldn't suspect a parasitic draw unless you have modified something electrical. Although this cannot be completely ruled out, start simple.
BCM = Body Control Module
Its a separate computer from the ECM
Its a factory included part of your vehicle
It controls most of the functions for the "body"
