Found out another interesting fact...My Dad's nearly identical '03 Yukon makes the same noise while turning in 4Hi, but no vibration while traveling in a straight line. Weirdness.
I compared them side by side today. I called the dealer and I'm going to take it in to have it looked at on...
I tried searching the forums using several terms, but couldn't find any help, so I guess I'll start a new thread.
While I was at work last night it snowed a couple inches, so I engaged 4 high in my 2003 Yukon(NP246 T Case) when I was driving home. As I was driving, I noticed a noise and...
I think the "fuel used" is a resettable thing, like a trip setting.
As far as the bad fit of the parts, paint, and overspray, just see if they'll fix it and make it right. Most dealers have a proper body shop, and any shop worth a flip will be able to fix it good as new. If you're...
How about a transfer case that isn't made out of magnesium? Also, proper mounting for the oil pump in the transfer case so that it doesn't wear a hole in the case.
NP246 pump rub forced me to replace the transfer case in mine. Fortunately, it was under warranty.
After I got my Yukon I started noticing all the other Yukons and Tahoes around, and I haven't seen too many in Spiral Gray.
Anyone else have one in this color? It looks almost black in photos, but in person has a little green in it when up close.
I'm so envious! I just bought mine a couple months ago, so that mountain of payments is looking pretty tall at the moment. We're paying extra every month to try to pay it off quicker, though. I own my Jeep and Subaru free and clear, at least.
Congrats!
I believe the rear axle in your 99 Yukon is leaf sprung, correct? If so, the 2004 rear will require some modifications to fit. The 2004's are coil sprung. You'll probably have to move the shock mounts, and you'll have to get rid of all the brackets from the original coil suspension. Then...
Another GM lifer here. My Dad just traded in his '96 Tahoe with 260,000 mi. He rebuilt the trans, but otherwise completely original. I had an S-10 Blazer with 180,000 mi that still ran great when I sold it.
Of course, the Yukon I just bought had a fried transfer case, but the warranty...
That would be cool, but you'd have to get it painted. Without blending on to the fenders the match probably wouldn't be that great. I'd love to see one, though.
My buddy's neighbor has a maroon Quadrasteer GMC pickup that I see driving around. Looks so cool when it turns a corner. Seems like they'd be a pain in the ass if something went wrong with them, though. Especially in a few years when parts are scarce.
I was exaggerating. It doesn't look bad, but I prefer the mouldings. Hell, in 20 years people will probably be buying them from LMC to replace the ones all the previous owners removed...Just like they do with the 70's and 80's ones now!
I agree with all the lighting issues.
Another biggie for me...Jack storage and the cheesy jack itself. Come on GM, at least give us a decent jack that goes high enough and isn't impossible to use. Don't get me started on putting the thing away...like a fucking Rubiks Cube in that little...
I guess I don't get it. If you like it, that's cool. It's your rig....but to me it looks like a stripped down state rig now. What's next, a vinyl bench seat and orange paint job?
I guess I just like the chrome accents and emblems. Different strokes for different strokes, I...
I'm sure a straight axle would be better in off road use, but your rig will drive like shit compared to the stock setup.
Also, a Wagoneer axle will be FAR too narrow for your application. If I recall correctly, a Wagoneer axle is around 60"-62" wide, which is close to the width of a...
