Hmmm. I've never seen mine go low like that unless there's a battery or alternator problem. Basically what that sensor does is tell the system when to charge, so I see it go from 12+ (healthy) up to 14.5 (charging) and back.

I'll have to get some pics. I suppose if I unplug that wire and it still does it I should assume the problem is elsewhere? The battery is brand new and the alternator is a few years old.

I would just unplug the sensor and put a Volt meter on the battery and the alternator while running to see what it's putting out to start.

I don't think that sensor would be your problem but I did read on here once some time back where one guy had a problem with it and he had to replace it but I don't remember the details

Here is a picture of the gauge when the alternator is not charging. Otherwise it is usually up a little over the 14 V mark.

Also here is a picture of the ground cable near the battery. Is that gray plug with the 3 wires the sensor plug y'all are talkin bout?

Gauge looks normal to me. Sitting at 12+. Yes, that's the plug you're after.

Really? Looks normal? Am I being to picky then? Just seems like the electronics are struggling when it is at that point. Even seems to run sluggish. Any idea what the 3 wires on that plug do?
