A hundred threads, but most old or airbag related. I have 109,000 miles and the rear shock bodies are pretty rusty, though no sign of leaks. One tire bounces pretty hard at 55mph, so I know somebody's dead...
Is there any source for stock or aftermarket electronic shocks, or am I forced to disable the autoride? I checked rockauto and gmpartsdirect, neither shows them available.
My 2000 xl slt has magnaride only on front and rear. I replaced them with KYB mono max shocks. To disable the Magnaride, you take a 20 amp (or 10 amp, its was a long time ago) fuse out of the fuse panel under the hood behind the battery. Its the only fuse on the diagram that is not only NOT listed but is actually active. If facing the fuse box from drivers side facing toward passenger fender, its in the lower right bottom i think.

Truck off, remove fuse, remove negative battery terminal , wait for like 3 minutes, reconnect without fuse. Start vehicle and there will be no error code or suspension fault. If it does then disconnect battery terminal again, wait longer. Yes i know this sounds insane but it works. In fact there was a Youtube video of someone doing it but the video is difficult to find and i found it 8 years ago.

Autoride...not Magnaride...I don't believe any of our generation trucks ever had Magnaride...it makes a difference when trying to replace parts

My 2500 in the owners manual lists it as Magna ride. I thought it was odd but glad to get rid of it. The ride was like a red wagon, jarring and way too harsh.
