I just have a quick question about the products I am looking at for my Hoe. I know it is 2wd and will never be taken offroad but I prefer the look of a lifted truck. My starter question is about how much of a difference should there be back to front to be leveled? Then I want to go about another 1".

I just need to know the best route as to go about doing this seeing as how I've never really dealt with lifting a truck.

Hi Matt, do some looking around on the forum. A lot of the guys here are very knowledgable. I don't know much about lifting either but I have a pretty basic plan to build a cute mall crawler, lol.

I did a search a while ago and I didn't see much along the lines of my question. Most of the posts I found were about NNBS Tahoes.

In theory, the difference from front to back should be the same to be "level". This will be opinionative tho. Some will say to be level be 100% same height. Some say 1" difference because when fully level it actually looks a tad taller up front.

If you are only looking for only 1" overall added, you can crank the front torsion bars to level the front, then add a 1" spacer. Again this is opinionative. You might would say then you would still have a 1" rake and not theoretically be "level". I currently have my front bars cranked about 1-1.5" over all and it was sitting at 36 .50" in the front and 36.625" in the back with 265/70/17. It looked like it was higher in the front. So I am now going to add 1" spacers in the back to help the look. Here is a pic...this is the day after I leveled the front and added 285/70/17 because the 265s looked too small to me.

I appreciate the info. I like the way urs sits but I think I would try and go maybe an 1" higher all around. So u have keys in the front and what in the back? The problem I ran into was keys and coil spacers for the front (not spring spacers) and not really anything for the back to lift it.

To lift the rear you will use coil spacers...on the front you can use either lift spindles or Ford Keys to lift it.

I used to have my 2004 Tahoe leveled with ford keys and 2" spacers in the rear. I only took it off because once it became my wifes Tahoe she didn't like loading the kids in the truck with the leveling kit on it. Here are some pictures.

Here is 2" coil spring in the rear and Ford Keys with 285/70

This is just the factory keys cranked to level on 265's

I am a bit confused on what you are saying. For the front you have a torsion bar set up. Options are cranking the keys or lift spindles.

Rear is a coil spring set up and many run a coil spring spacer. You can also buy lift coils, but they are a lot more expensive. You can pick up coil spacers anywhere from 0.75" to 3.00". I wouldn't recommend anything over 2" but to each his own.

In that pic I have stock keys up front with minimal crank to level it out. I still have room to crank if I want the front to be higher. The rear on mine is 100% stock. I will be ordering coil spring spacers for 1" lift in the rear.

My previous set up was 3" spindles, 1" crank in front. z71 springs in rear with 1.50" spacers and was running 33" tires. I was sitting about 39" up front and 40.50" in the back.

Here is a vendor that one guy on the forum recommended. I plan to buy his 1" coil spacers and rear shock extender.

If you are wanting to run 1" more than I have, I would recommend reindexed keys with 1.50" spacers. Same ebay vendor with everything you need for a great price.

Here is the thread about them.

So I already have the keys up front? What's the point in buying different ones? Now for the back I found a lot of coil spacers that said for front only. I believe it was the Daystar spacers from topguncustomz website.

Daystar are polyurenethane and are for front coils. They are not what you need. Get either the ones I sent links to, suspensionmaxx or McBay Performance website. Just search for rear coil spring spacers. There are tons online to buy. The link showed you before from ebay, that guy has all set ups and the price is very good.

The keys up front are stock. They only allow you to gain about 2" tops depending on how badly your bars are sagging. Buying aftermarket ones or ford keys will allow you to gain more height because they are reindexed (2.5-3.0"). This is a good read with lots of information to answer most questions on cranking torsion bars
http://www.gmfullsize.com/tech/torsion401.html

Lastly, don't waste your time on the Rough Country level lift either, many are very unhappy for the price. The keys do not give as much as ford keys...cost much more, and the rear spacers are .75 poly.

There are many threads on here about options on how to lift, brands that were ran, and end results/measurements.
