Hey yall, this is my first post..

I have an 07 tahoe 4x4 with the CCM 2.5/1in level kit. I'm running stock rims wrapped in 33s with 1.5 inch spacers all around. Before installing the spacers (2 days ago) The front right wheel rubbed slightly. With the spacers I cant even take right turns anymore. I doubt I will be able to return the spacers because they have a couple miles on them and I ordered it online, not to mention it makes my hoe look beautiful (pics to come). anyways... Im hoping to fix the rub by either bilstein 5100s or a body lift.
Not really in the market for new rims or a full suspension lift. .

Can I achieve another 2 inches of lift out of the 5100s while keeping the strut spacers currently installed? will I need a diff drop with this set up??

If I go with a BL, what brands should I be looking at? Can I still tow? will my bumpers be relocated?

The rub is terrible... I will post pics soon!

At least explain where its rubbing until you can post pics. Need more information if you want decent help.

What kind of tires did you get? I have 275/60-20 Cooper ATP's and they don't rub. Close, but they don't. Bilstien 5100 1.75" lift and 0.75" spacer in the back (back is nowhere close to rubbing)

You can't really add Bilstieins to a spacer kit. You'll have too much lift total. Front end will be all crazy.

Only the front right tire rubs. front left is close as hell but not touching, the rears have plenty of room. Tires = Cooper ATP 285/70/17

The outside edge of the tire rubs against the lower mid area of the wheel well. I removed the plastic lining and there was metal behind it and other electrical components. I used a hammer to bend some of the metal back out of the way...cutting the metal would make for a better temp fix. just worried about destroying the tire

You can't go any higher than 2.5 on front without getting into major issues. Either using the 5100 plus spacers or staying with 2.5 spacer.

You can get a 3" body lift. Should relocate all parts up. Think zone or rough country makes them. I prefer the 1.25-1.5" body lift for trucks but haven't experimented with them to see how they fit the Tahoe.

Look up NorCal mod for back side of fender trim. If your rubbing on the front bumper then you can get some pro comp bumper brackets to trim up the edges.

285/70-17 isn't even a 33" tire (32.7")

If you take the spacers off they shouldn't rub

Going to 4wheelparts in the morning to talk about a body lift or to see if they can perform the norcal mod. If they are too busy I might be taking on that project myself.

Yes blkYukon you're correct, 32.7inches is the exact diameter but ''33'' is a much faster key stroke..

Thanks for all info though! I'll keep you guys updated :chewie:

Keep in mind that you need to account for compression also, not just static conditions. Important when you take it offroad or any condition where you are turning and flexing the suspension.

I am not sure if the body lift will create a gap with the bumpers. Hopefully someone on here can chime it.

I performed the NorCal mod this afternoon and it was a breeze. I ended up taking off more metal than suggested but in the end it still looks neat. The pics below are of the rubbed area behind the plastic lining. Once the lining is reinstalled you can no longer see the cuts

Zed you're totally right, I still rub slightly when at full lock reverse or uphil right turns.
