Im new to this board but have read a bunch and have not seen anyone with this problem. I have a 08 tahoe that i bought a few months ago and have only had this problem maybe 6-8 times. I start the car with the remote start and a few seconds after the truck starts it makes a odd sound that i cant put my finger on and then dies. It sounds like it is happening when the ac compressor is kicking on. I start it back up and everything is fine. I have had no problems or sounds coming from the engine other than this starting issue. Any one have any ideas?

what brand remote start?? it sound like its using voltage mode instead of tach to monitor when the engine is running. has the battery in the truck been replaced recently.

could also be a prob with the ignition security interface. i would fine a local shop that installs the brand you have. let them check it out,

The remote start is factory. The truck is entirely stock other than some HID headlights, fog lights, and LED's elsewhere. Not sure on the battery life since i bought it used a few months ago.

ryanls1,

I am sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with your vehicle. Did you take your vehicle into the dealership for a diagnosis? If so, what did they say?

Thank you!

My question is different, my remote starts the car but the AC isn't running until I put the key into the ignition. Sorry if I hijacked the tread.

Cjr2,

What model year is your vehicle? I would like to take a look into this for you. Also, have you been to your dealership about this issue?

Thank you

I've had remote starting issues as well. '07 Yukon XL. Took it to the dealer and they could not duplicate the issue. The starter fires the truck up but dies quickly after (like the ignition is cut out). It's irregular -so it's difficult to diagnose.

Smallxl,

I am sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue with your Yukon XL. How often does this issue occur?

Thank you!
