10 bolt swapped for what year 14 bolt 2500 HD or Suburban

Curious if anyone knows anything about swapping out the rear axel assembly from 10 bolt to a 14 bolt. I believe the correct year was 2003 HD and Suburbans but I'm not certain. All I was looking to do is a drum to disc brake conversion and this looks like the best option. Also what other brake hardware upgrades will be needed? Is there any way not to use the 8 lug and still keep the 5?
