My hot idle is about 30 I believe. My Yukon is like 18-20...variable pressure pump or whatever they call it

My avalanche also has more noise on passenger side. More prominent sewing machine

That’s good to know about the oil pressures I just really hate a gauge showing less than half. Moar is bettererer after all.

My passenger side noise is more than sewing machine I think I can hear it while driving which makes me think maybe just an exhaust leak but hard to tell. It’s not necessarily a prominent taping like I’d expect a loose rocker arm to be guess I’ll find out tomorrow morning.

Hey @Dantheman1540 which wideband is it you use? I know aem but specific one? Also, @randeez I would like your input since the one you recommended isn't available anymore. I started watching some GRG videos today. Finally found the step by step series and I think I may possibly be able to make some progress. Before, I was finding shit that was here and there and got frustrated. I'm not very YouTube savvy :pp:

I can definitely hear mine while driving. That's why it bothers me. Lol. It's pushrod noise but has a similar sound to piston slap, in the truck. Like a clatter sound. Underhood, it's like pushrod sewing machine, if that makes sense

I get confused by the model numbers but I think you can use the newer style that plugs into the OBD2 port. UEGO maybe?

It does sorta sound like piston slap so maybe that is it! I was worried it was bottom end stuff or a lifter totally died which is style a possibility lol.

Hopefully it's a simple fix. I doubt anything is wrong with bottom end or lifter. You may have a cam like mine and take two different length rods lol

Thank you. I'll do some digging on that shit tomorrow
yea the AEMS are good just grab one of those...the obd2 port plug ones should be easy to get goin if you dont mind it being plugged in all the time.
I wanted the easiest possible thing. The Bluetooth option was nice and wish I could've gotten that one. I will only be using this until I get the truck dialed in. Nothing permanent except the hole in the exhaust:(

Once I get this shit ordered and installed, I may have some questions for you two. I will try to not be a huge bother with it. I'm feeling 100x better since I found the "start here" series.

This...
AEM (30-4110) UEGO Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N3VGPY...t_i_WRNDJWA7CGJ9DBM6MNMX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Or?

Aem 30-0334 Afro Sensor Controller (X-Series Wideband Ugo Gauge With Obie Connectivity) 2.0625 x 0.825 inches https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07467LFH...t_i_8RYZPYEHF7VRJTJFTQ6W?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I want to get the truck sorted out and then try to fix some issues with the car. Neither vehicles will be permanently mounted (I don't think anyway).

Sorry to Jack the thread again. I'll make it up to you:love62:

Edit: reading the reviews it seems like it's super simple for the avalanche and I'd have to build/buy a little harness/adapter for the car. If that's correct, I'd prefer the simplest thing for the truck and adapt to OG pro for the car.

I’m officially concerned, found this stuff in the valve covers but see no Reason for it. All the rockers appear to be torque correctly and I even went back over them. I pull the oil filter and the oil looks all right a little bit of shiny but I don’t see any large pieces like this in the filter medium either.

The only odd looking thing is on the passenger side where it looks like maybe the spring compressor tool rubbed the spring seat a little bit. Almost positive it’s not caused by the rocker arm. I guess I’m going to putting it back up and see if it still makes noise.

Looks like a spring of some kind. Strange. I hope it's nothing catastrophic!
