In other news tuning is going fairly well, the MAF is pretty much done and I need to swap to tuning the VE but first I want to focus on the idle.

It likes to have a crazy idle swing on startup which usually smooths after a few seconds but then could kick back in after any throttle input. The swing is showing timing which should be around 25 jumping all the way up to 40 although that cell in the timing tables clearly says 25. I enabled spark smoothing which seemed to help a little but not drastically. I think I need to smooth the spark tables myself because there are some large changes from when I was hunting false KR with the old heads.

I’m also back to having inconsistent AC, it shows the compressor being commanded but then the high pressure sensor switches it back off. Guess I need to check pressures because messing with anything but I also noticed that when the AC does come in and stay on the idle is worse and the return to idle sometimes hangs at 1,500-2k. So I’m spending the next bit of time on idle issues before throwing the MAP sensor back into play.
