im about ready to throw my pos mig in the trash, i can lay down some ok looking welds..but the thing is so inconsistant with feed speed, or even feeding at all and amperage. like literally the same thing i was just welding 10 minutes before the welds turn out completely different. i nearly ordered the same everlast you got the other day...but i really dont have much to weld atm so i didnt

I feel like I've already asked, but have you changed the liner?

I’m currently working scratch start carbon steel in my class, I’ve already don’t pedal start aluminum and SS. My Everlast at home has the ability to be scratch, pedal, or what I guess I’ll call a “dimmer switch” on the torch itself. Basically a hand pedal on the torch for out of position welding. I can’t wait to use it for TIG but it’s so much easier to take stuff with me during the week and use free supplies for now.

Scratch start feels like poor people TIG, pedals are cheap and I don’t ever want to do weird structural stuff. Worst case scenario if I’m laying under a truck trying to TIG I can set the max amps to what I want to run at and just use the pedal as an on/off switch instead of a throttle if that makes sense.
I learned on stick so scratch start is hard for me. I stick it like I am starting a stick welder.

I didn’t even know liners were replaceable.

Yeah it’s not fun to stick your tungsten and have it burn half an inch off it. Really not fun to forget to turn your gas on.

Can't remember what is considered safe IDC but I'm at 90% at 6k but 11.5afr so once its leaned out I don't think I'll be any higher that 90% even at 6,500rpm.

Still having that weird ass rich condition that shows up in the first minute of driving. as well as the AC compressor not always wanting to stay on. I need to put a set of gauges on it still but I don 't think its a pressure issue, Fairly convinced its a tune issue.

tuning sucks

yea 90% is ok every once and a while at the top of a pull - you on e85?

my ac is still assfucking me too. idle is dead nuts on without ac on, with ac on and compressor always pulled in stable all day too. soon as compressor starts cycling it all goes to shit rpm swings from 400-1200.

whomever is responsible for censoring words is slacking

Yep that's exactly what symptoms I'm having. I tried adding stuff to the engine>torque model>loss> AC compressor vs pressure table before I did these heads but I was having a little bit of high idling so I just zerod it out and I'm about to try it without it. I have a feeling its gonna be worse and then I'll end up adding more than before. assfucking assfucking assfucking assfucking assfucking.

Wow your totally right someone ain't worth a ****.

i havent tried to completely remove it all which i guess i probably should to just see if its not needed
