All loaded up ready to roll, air bags even held air over night!
Spent some time talking to my powder man today and he’s convincing me to SAS/4x4 my Tahoe with a newer power wagon front axle. Then slap an H2 14b in the rear, for matching 4.10s and lockers front and rear. Slap some 8x165>8x180 adapters on with some 2022 AT4 wheels and 35s and be ready for work.
He does a lot of brodozer solid axle show quality lifts, and says he can do all the brackets, link, steering, shocks and springs. However, transfer case and drive shaft is on me. So I’ll likely pull the 2wd tranny and send it off for a rebuild/4x4 conversion. Then for transfer case I will either do the 2500, manual floor shift case, or talk to Off-road design and look at one of their badass twin stick units. Not because I need double low, but because if your gonna do it might as well do it right #randeez.
It seems silly, but for years I’ve been tossing around the idea of getting a new diesel with a manual trans and 4x4. However 30-40k for a truck that I will want to do a bunch of mods too is kinda dumb. I think I can be in less than $10k and will actually be happier with the Tahoe than I would a 40k truck because truck beds are worthless when it rains, and I don’t want something that’s difficult to park. I should also be able to sell a lot of my parts because basically the entire suspension and rear axle will be for sale as a bolt in ready to go kit.
