Why would anyone object to green?

It depends on the state. In Indiana, red is for emergency vehicles, blue for volunteer firefighters and green is for EMT's. Across the river in Kentucky, Red is for volunteer firefighters and Blue is for the State Police. Some local agencies use blue only or blue and red. Back in July Indiana started getting more serious about lights as a lot of guys like to run red or blue lights in the windshield.

In October I got to spend an unplanned afternoon just ahead of a blind curve. A friend had rolled his Yukon XL just around this corner, and it was mostly blocking the road. During the time I was there I had a state park ranger, a game warden, a deputy sheriff, and a state trooper come by responding to the accident. Not one objected to what I was doing.

When I was a volunteer officer, I used a red beacon on the roof (magnetic base) and red wig wags on the rear deck. As long as they weren't lit while moving, I was legal. The deck lights could be wired like extra brake lights but they couldn't flash while moving. As for when they were off, they aren't red lights then, moving or parked.

Mine are all green. Also only used when not on the public ROW.

Do you mean you have to leave a tuner device plugged in all the time? You can’t just tuck it under the dash?
You can just upload the tune and be done with it until you might need to update it down the road for more mods, but you can setup it to see various things like engine temp, rpms (05 doesn’t have a tach) and other things you can keep an eye on so for a few days I’m gonna throw it on the mount then I’ll probably just leave it at the house
