maybe try this: disconnect the batt, spray maf cleaner into the maf sensor across the little hairs, spray some tb cleaner into the blade then swap some plugs out, reconnect batt. did you check the relay/fuses for the traction control? maybe a plug is loose on the hub for the abs.

HI YooFormula
I believe that is what the dealer did while the vehicle was there...except for changing the plugs..but..I am definitely game for doing it myself so that way I know it was definitely done.

Thanks for your help

No problem man, just throwing some stuff out, hard to figure out what's up with it without being there in person, just some stuff I thought of!! Sounds like the communication between the pedal and the motor is messed up, I don't know much about all of that, sorry!! Good luck and keep us up to date!!

tahoe back to the dealer....

... I brought it back to them this past Thursday...told them they could have it for the weekend.
I almost got T ***** at a busy intersection.... as I went to make my left hand turn... I stepped on the accelerator...and the motor just idled.. there I was idling through the intersection with traffic coming at me at SPEED!
Guy behind me honking his horn as he wanted to follow me through.. so I made it through as a couple cars hit the brakes and I idled to the side of the road.. after about 10 seconds.... accelerator started working again...
I told the dealer it's dangerous to drive.. which it is... my wife refuses to drive it!
I'll find out more on Monday.
I sure hope they figure this out.
One thing I noticed.. when I turned the traction control off.. the vehicle seemed to respond better. No more flat spot either. Maybe related problem somehow???

Any input is always appreciated

thanks

I would bet it is the Sensor acting up, especially since it happens when turning left, I believe what is happening is its thinking it is slipping and engaging the Traction Control.

I may be wrong but if it were my truck I would be checking the Sensors out.

sensors?

I hear ya.. this also happened twice while i was in stop and go traffic on a major highway.. no turning.. and on the dic.. came up.."traction control active" geez.. no turns.. wasn't barely moving.. just at idle.

I'm waiting for a call from the dealer tomorrow.. I have this awful feeling they'll find nothing.. or try to sell me something

spoke to the dealer today...

oh.. first.. what's a CEL?

so.. the dealer said.. apparently it is one of two sensors .. that is sending an incorrect reading to make the traction control come on and then it does it's thing with the throttle body? go figure! but.. he needs the truck for another day or two so they can figure out which sensor.. but.. they say they are close and should be able to repair it. So.. we'll see.. I hope to have it back by Wed.
I'm crossing my fingers!!!
Will keep you updated

latest update

Just got off the phone with the dealership..
.. apparently.. it's a combination.. wheel speed sensor/bearing/hub assembly.. that is at fault.. or giving a faulty reading and setting off the traction control that is disabling the throttle body.
Dealerships being what they are.. they are not willing to help with cost of repair .. nor is gm willing to assist.. although timwise.. i'm within the limit of the warranty. i'm over on the mileage.. geez. i was over three days after i bought the truck as i drove it back and forth to florida!

I mentioned I wasn't happy but had no choice but to have them fix it. I explained that since I had this problem from the first week. I would've expected some help as far as customer service goes.

So.. from any of the experts here.. does this sound like a possibility as far as the correct repair for this type of problem?

Thanks in advance guys.. for your advice and for listening to me.

Sounds rights, I thought it would have to do with the wheel sensors.
