I just bought a 07 denali with the 6.2L with 161,000 and driving around town runs fine and has power. I took it today on its first little trip and made it probably 20 miles and noticed a knock that when along with acceleration and got louder if I accelerated. I turned around and got back to town and after sitting at a red light i took off and it runs and sounds fine even if I accelerated through the gears kinda fast. I have read other posts about lifters? Need help. Want to get this resolved!! Any help appreciated! Have read stuff about oil pressure and noticed it runs about 30 after it warms up and driving. Will idle about 20 when warm. Please please help!!!

hello, I have a light knock coming from the front of the motor of my 2007 gmc denali 6.2L. It only knocks after the motor is warm and you hold the rpms at 2k for a few minutes. I can't exactly pinpoint it but sounds like one of the pulley's. I noticed the a/c belt has a little bounce up and down to it.. thinking the idler pulley is it but just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? Thanks!

Mine knocks when it warms up then goes away after ten minutes. Sounds like a rod knock. It hasn't gotten any louder. I've had the truck two months now. 2007 Yukon Denali

Well your truck is dead lol. Nah just messing with you. Mine is the same. I have slight knock when it warms up but disappears after ten minutes driving.

I just bought it 2 weeks ago from a dealer so took it back and now they are saying the engine is shot and want to offer me a different vehicle instead of eating the cost of a new motor. Not happy! It doesn't start knocking till the motor is warm and you are driving down the highway and if you stop and let it sit a minute it goes away till you are back up to a certain rpm after driving aways again

I'd like to know if it's really a rod knock. Some 6.2 have loose valve seats and may drop a valve

Same here. I am going to talk to them in a hour. All he told me over the phone was that it was shot.

From most dealership's actions, you should be glad they're offering to do that. Maybe @Tonyrodz should contact this dealership and see if they wanna get rid of that knocking motor.
