This relates to the oil pan question I posted last week - so maybe someone in this thread can clarify for me, is it necessary to drop both the front axle and the crossmember just to remove the pan to change the gasket? And if so, does dropping the pan give you access to the o-ring? I need to replace my gasket, but if I can, I'll replace the o-ring while I'm in there.

Power steering hoses. Can someone tell me the hose hookup for new rack I put in. Also which seals do u use as I must have missed one as it's dumping oil out of pinion hookups. Ugh

I'm having the same issues with my 07 Denali 6.2l - VERY low oil pressure at cold idle (with a temporary loud lifter noise at cold start that goes away once you rev the engine). About 10 to 15 PSI at warm idle. Changed the oil and added Marvel Mystery oil which fixed the valve train nose at startup and improved startup oil pressure from near 0 to 1ish PSI but still have the issue. This all started after switching to Mobil 1 high mileage, I'm thing it may have loosened sum gunk that was allowing the o-ring to seal up but that's just a guess.

My most pressing question is: Can you change the pick-up o-ring by just dropping the oil pan? I'd rather do that than mess with pulling the front timing cover and crankshaft seal etc.. I thought about changing the oil pump but figured I may skip it if the stockers are known to last awhile (my vehicle is currently at 133k miles).

Hi.. I'm having the same problem with my 2008 Escalade, loud lifter noise at cold start and during idle in the signal, only gone once I rev the engine or during driving. Since I'm still confused which o ring should I replace maybe somebody can post the picture here or let me know the part number? Or maybe you can show me which part I should buy in below link:

After replacing the o ring do I need any additional parts related for this issues? So I can buy and replace it together.. Thanks

You just need this part, you'll also have to replace your oil pan gasket since you'll have to take the oil pan off to get to this. Here's a link to the part:

https://www.amazon.com/Fel-Pro-72401-O-Ring/dp/B0049839P2

It goes around the neck of the oil pickup tube where the tube goes into the oil pump. I'm taking pictures as I do the repair so I can post a DIY guide.

Jagsta, one more question, how many rings required?
