2007 Yukon LMG to LY6

Well my lil ol 5.3 has over 200k miles and finally bit the dust. Lost number 6 cylinder and 3 wasn't far behind.
Well after much deliberation, contemplation, I have decided to go to the 6.0L. I would do a 6.2 but my pockets are pretty shallow. Being close to Christmas and family full of kids need to cut costs too you know. Not looking to hotrod it or make a super fast car. Just wanted a little more grunt for towing my travel trailer. Since it is also my work truck I need to get back on the road. So a stock 6.0 is plenty. Best of all my Yuke is paid for. I do know that everything just bolts right across. Intake will fit so fuel delivery should be fine. I may need to go up on injectors. My biggest concern is the 4L60E bolting up. Some say you need a new flywell others say the stock 5.3L will work, back up plan is to get one from a SS Siverado. Last concern was getting the it tuned. Again getting mixed info on this as some say yes other say no. Any little info an anything would be greatly appreciated.

Flywheel change is dependent on years of vehicle you pull the 6.0 from.
If im thinking correct 99-03 need the change, or is it a crank adapter? Ot will come to me in a few.

As far as injectors, if you get a complete pull out, no change needed. If you go the long block route then yes injector change is needed and i highly recommend the flex fuel injectors for a PNP scenario. Of you want to plan for the future jump on CTSV forum and get a set of the stock, supercharged injectors.
The hight adapter that go on top of the injectors and the wire harness pigtails. Total cost 200$ low, 250$ high side.


Post up vehicle details, year, model, drivetrain.



ps, do the 6.0 short block if going reman, and grab a set of 799 heads (have them cut .030) and a NNBS intake, there are other parts needed, but it will make great power. You will be happy.
Given your knowledge in your first post, im willing to bet you probably know all this. :)

I guess know what Yukon I have would help,
Its a 2007 GMC Yukon SLT 4wd

Swap it to 24x? Man that's too much work and wiring unless you know a trick

Anyone know if I can just plug and play a 4L80E from a 4L60E?

If its a Gen IV 6.0, its a direct swap. No modifications at all.
Is it a short block or long block?
I do believe you'll need bigger injectors and you will need a tune.
The 4l60e will hold up as long as you don't drive it like you stole it.
The 80e swap is a plug and play, thanks to so many aftermarket companies jumpin on the band wagon. PCM of NC has a harness as does several other companies.

Thanks for the info . Not going to drive it like I stole it. Looking ti swap with 6.0 engine from 8th digit K truck/suburban. After Christmas, thats when this will start. Also looking to do a VVT delete. Figured I get a tune but damned if anyone i TN knows any good dyno tuners. Never done mail order and a bit leery of that since I have never done it. I realize we lots on here with black bear tune which i realize you can get close but how close?
The 4L80E with gear vendors is the next step.
