From a Diablo website:

try holding the left directional button while applying usb power and hold it until the device boots up.
if it works it will boot to the veh selection menu, and at that point you should open dsdownloader and let it connect to update the too

This is normal with obd2 devices, you can unplug it or buy a switch to allow you to turn if off, just google obd2 switch, picked mine up for $10. A lot depends on how you drive it. for what you want to do next, if you offload once a month, monitor your transfer case more. If its a daily driver that hardly sees dirt. I wouldn't worry about transfer case to much. Never put it in 4wd on pavement, unless covered in snow. If it is worth repairing is up to you. If it is just another vehicle to you and you have your eyes on another vehicle then you should move forward with it. But you have time. I have a 99 2dr 4wd, i plan on keeping it as long as i can so it is worth repairing to me.

So again thank you all for your input. I’ve been busy with the Tahoe.

So the Chevy dealer did work they checked the transfer case and no metal shavings. So that was good. lol but. I went all out and had the alternator, air blower, oil cooler lines, back seat cover, couple exhaust bolts, sway bars ( both replaced) and left motor mount replaced.

Very expensive but all were needed. Tahoe works great.

Aloha

To all.

Yes. I saw the shavings that oil stop showed me. There was something there. Yes Chevy took a look and I told them what I’ve told you all. Made it clear what my fear was and reminded them I’m under drive train warranty too. Yes their tech said no shavings no issues. My take was that I had it serviced May off 2023. And had it serviced February of 2025. It had not been checked since then. About 32 thousand miles.
