If this was a $100 mod, everyone on this forum would have that bumper. People are just justifying why they aren't doing the mod and blaming it on costs.

Not true at all. I really thought the exhaust tips were real.

They are real. They just don't physically connect to the exhaust tip itself. My assumption is that this is to alleviate heat and the potential to actually melt/warp the bumper cover.

The actual part is referred to as an exhaust extension.

Emissions, noise, rumble, etc all comes through that tip, therefore it is indeed a real exhaust tip. Solid metal and all. ;)

I make practically nothing on these bumpers, certainly not worth selling them, but for you I would gladly sell 10 bumpers. Send PayPal.

How would it block heat when it dumps the exhaust directly into the back of the bumper instead of directly routing through?

I am logging out and quitting the discussion now.

i must have missed where it dumps it directly into the back of the bumper?

It has the exhaust end in the back of the exhaust extension (tip). There just is no "seal" per say that completely capsulates the exhaust piping to the extension itself.

I had this bumper physically in my hands (well, not anymore, I sold it, but it was a nice feel), I have seen it, not through means of pics. It does not "dump directly into the back of the bumper." That exhaust pipe ends inside the extension itself. That is all metal. The extension/tip is not a molded part of the bumper, its a solid metal housing that affixes to the bumper cover itself with metal bracketry and bolts. If one wanted to take a piece of sheet metal and place it around the extension and weld it to the tip itself, it would create a whole piece, but I think wit the flexing of the bumper cover that this wouldn't be a smart idea.

Cut a section out of the middle of your exhaust some where in the middle and see if the fumes and heat do not go everywhere. As for the flex, I know my exhaust is connected worth rubber therefore can flex, also your bumper is flexing more then your exhaust then you have problems. Sure a bumper is allowed to flex a bit but you guys thinking it should have no solid points.
