If this was a $100 mod, everyone on this forum would have that bumper. People are just justifying why they aren't doing the mod and blaming it on costs.

They are real. They just don't physically connect to the exhaust tip itself. My assumption is that this is to alleviate heat and the potential to actually melt/warp the bumper cover.
The actual part is referred to as an exhaust extension.
Emissions, noise, rumble, etc all comes through that tip, therefore it is indeed a real exhaust tip. Solid metal and all.

How would it block heat when it dumps the exhaust directly into the back of the bumper instead of directly routing through?
