I need the great collective wisdom of this group. Any help is appreciated.
The truck: 2013 Tahoe 5.3, full AFM delete, Texas speed lifters and cam (stock grind) with VVT, high volume/pressure oil pump, BlackBear tuned. This set up has about 120K miles on it. Truck has 185K.
The truck has run flawlessly for 120K miles. Oil changed every 5,000 miles.
The problem: within the last 200 miles the truck started making a small noise that sounded similar to catalytic converters coming loose and rattling. Yesterday that turned into a much louder metallic nouns that increases with engine speed. It is NOT the collapsed lifter tick/tap. I have been through that an know what it sounds like. I have eliminated all pulleys, water pump and A/C as the cause.
Also, there are NO codes and oil pressure is steady - hot or cold - at 35-45 psi.
Any ideas? I am stumped.
