Black Carbon (or Black Ice in my case) is a fantastic color imo, and the only reason I considered owning another black SUV. It looks different under different lighting conditions, and the flake in the paint looks beautiful.

It can look very black like in my sig when it's overcast, and under bright sunshine it's almost like a very dark grey:

Ah ok, didn't realize that. To be honest, I have yet to see one in person.

It might be worth to interweb dealer hop to see if there's one near you you can check out in person. They're not very common cause it's an extra option to have that color.

Here's a closeup of the flake:

Yeah, I know the one I have been working with has one in stock, but it doesn't have the options I want. Planning on ordering one now, so if all goes according to plan, I will check out this color and compare to the silver and make a game time decision.

But your pics help, thanks! I didn't realize the colors were one in the same.

I have had 3 black vehicles but will never buy one again. The upkeep to make them look good is just to great.

That said, Carbon Black looks so good even I was starting to 2nd guess buying another black vehicle. Looks great, is not as common as the other premium pearlescent colors, and is easier to keep clean. Or rather, still looks good when it is not perfectly clean.

In the end I went with Red Tintcoat, which is a color I have always wanted.

My old Tahoe was red, wasn't the biggest fan at first but it grew on me. Considered red for this one, but the reviews on the carbon are swaying me.
