Checked codes today after letting it sit overnight and got:
U0101
U0073
After I started the engine the U0073 went away but I had to clear the other one. All of the problems were gone too.

OK, here’s your update:

I decided to call AAA and have them tow it to a repair shop. That repair shop is actually caliber collision because I have a hook up there. They do have mechanics on staff.

Of course, the AAA guys, one was in training, and the other was the seasoned vet, assumed I was an idiot and told me they could probably get it jumped and going again. I sort of laughed and told them OK sure feel free to prove me wrong. I would love nothing more.

They wasted about 10 minutes of their time and got to the same place. I did pretty quickly.

I did tell them that I just had the bumper replaced and I did see a cord hanging out the back rear the other day. But I wasn’t sure if that had any relation to anything.

The apprentice went back, got on the ground, and looked underneath and found that harness, only to realize that it had a considerable amount of melting.

Seemed pretty obvious that would be the issue, they towed it back to caliber anyway since they did the bumper repair I needed. They’ll probably cover it under warranty.

What is interesting is that? I probably drove this Tahoe for the last five years to my Duck Club and it constantly got mud caked in the same spot never had an issue though.

I am guessing that when caliber replaced the bumper that had a big dent in it, that they forgot to clip the harness up higher or something, and when I took it hunting again, all the mud splattered and it fell down - thus either catching on fire or being so hot that it melted being near the exhaust pipe.

Candidly, I was surprised that a wire harness that far back could disable the whole car. Interesting right?

Waiting to see where it goes will up to you update you all later.
