I'm sure this has been discussed on here before but recently in the past week I have been noticing a shudder in the transmission. A quick search online tells me this is a known issue with the 8 speed and has a class action lawsuit pending along with multiple TSB's released by GM. I have the shudder issue and hard shift into gear every now and then. Has anyone had any luck on fixing this problem?

2016 Yukon Denali w/ 61,000 miles

I'm looking for some input before I take it into the dealership.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

GM has a newer fluid that was designed to address the 8speed transmission issues. Your Dealer should be aware of it.

I had the same problem with my 2016 8 speed. Going down the highway it would feel like you kept hitting the rumble sticks.

There is a TSB and the fluid flush and change fixed it....the occasional hard shift remains though.

Good luck.

They performed the TSB trans fluid change and also reprogramed the TCM on my 2015 Denali with the 8 speed, this would have been around 48K-ish miles. Surprisingly it took care of the issue and currently at 97K and they haven't came back.

Same thing happened to my 16 -TSB 16-NA-175 is the bulletin that addresses the problem. The dealer not only replaced the tranny fluid, they also replaced the torque converter-problem solved.

UPDATE: Just got it back today. They did the transmission flush. Everything seems to be OK so far. They ended up covering the cost of it since I was only a 1,000 miles out of warranty.
