2022 Tahoe vs 2023 Sequoia

I have a GMC and pissed at GM for the Costly on-star $39.00 per month. The remote key fob remote start no longer works because i'm not paying the monthly FEE.

The remote key fob should still work, that doesn’t go off Onstar. If you try doing from your phone on the app then that requires Onstar

Ya the Key FOB start has nothing to do with Onstar. I was really annoyed when I found out I had been paying $39 for 5+ months for that. I did use the remote unlock once to let my wife in, but none of that is worth $40/mo. They SAID they would let me know when the free trial was up and tell me my credit card would start being charged. Pretty sure that never happened.

Yodas might be reliable but they are terrible on gas mileage. I don’t trust the longevity of stock turbos. Especially if you’re doing a lot of towing you’re already maxing the capacity of the engine and turbosa. It might have V8 towing capacity but the turbos are at high boost to get there. Plus heat soak.

I’ve always thought Toyota interiors looked kinda cheap and covered in plastic but that new interior is a step in the right direction, other than that huge screen. I really like these new GM interiors though and the improved 3rd row is great. I’m 6’3” and have rode back there in our XL a couple times and it was spacious back there compared to before

Tell them you will only pay $7.99. Thats what we have on two of our vehicles. I think it is called the connectivity plan.

Sequoia's trunk is a joke and not really useful.. I don't get why they get such design.. All of other cars in this segment get almost flat floor in the trunk area.

I'm not that impressed with the Sequoia, however, I certainly welcome more competition to the 1/2 ton full size SUV market.

I've been checking out the 2022 Ford Expedition Limited Max with Stealth Performance Edition and I see some serious advantages over the GM products:
- available high output EcoBoost engine with 3.73 rear end will make it feel more powerful while towing; GM has a much lower rear diff gear ratio and the 10 speed auto ratios are identical between Ford and GM
- higher payload capacity / tow rating with tow package
- people that have had both GM and Ford usually prefer Ford seats for comfort
- adjustable pedals
- has HD radio (not as de-featured as GM)

I think the GM Yukon Denali XL looks slightly better than the Ford Expedition, but the Ford Expedition Limited Max with Stealth Performance Edition looks pretty good.

I do like GM's simpler engine and I would prefer it over the EcoBoost, but I can accept the High Output EcoBoost engine that is also found in the F150 Raptor.

I do think the GM with MagneRide suspension will be more compliant than the "Sport Tuned Suspension" of the Ford Expedition Limited Max with Stealth Performance Edition but I'm waiting for a review of the Ford to see what the exact differences are in the suspension.

The actual sale price of both vehicles will be incredibly similar. Ford has a much higher MSRP but Granger Ford will sell for 3% below invoice which puts it at about the same pricing as buying a GMC Yukon Denali XL from Robideaux Motors.

I think it's worth holding out for a 2023 to see if GM will bring back certain features and also to see if anyone makes substantive changes to their headlights now that the USDOT is allowing higher end adaptive headlights.

Isn't the Sequoia going to be using the same Tundra engine that has already been having tons of problems? I saw that some people's trucks were bricked at just a few hundred miles. They'll get that sorted out eventually, no doubt, and Toyota makes a quality vehicle, but I absolutely would not purchase one for a few years. That may be slightly hypocritical given the 5.3 problems and the fact that I have a '21 Z71, but I feel like I've seen a lot more early complaining about the Tundra's reliability than I did the Tahoe's.

We'll likely do the next iteration of the 4Runner for our other vehicle, so I'm looking forward to seeing what the specs are on that.

GM has had their fair share of problems with the V8s lately. I think the EcoBoost is certainly more complicated but appears to be less problematic in the 2021+ F150s.

I would be towing a flat bed tilt car trailer for the track. Total weight would be around 6,000lbs not including gear inside the tow vehicle.
