Any update on this situation?

Do we have a fix?

D.
Had mine towed into the dealer, even with the bulletin being presented, my service advisor said he thinks it's something else lol. He mentioned it may just be my key fobs needing to be reset, I don't doubt that cause it did say on the screen that my fob was missing. Definitely a little bit of a deeper problem than my key fobs, I'll keep you all posted on what they present to me when I pick it up.

Truck is fixed as far as I know, even got an oil change, and is back in my drive way after less than 36 hours after drop off. The BCM issue was the culprit, and apparently this update is meant to be done at the vehicles first service. At 5K I hadn't had my oil changed quite yet and didn't get in prior to this issue occuring. Here is a shot of the tech notes about finding the codes and his resolve. Lines up almost perfect with that bulletin.PXL_20220628_022815007.jpg

Something similar happened to me. Went shopping with the kids and several times used either the app or the key fob to start my Yukon. Last go round started it unlocked it loading my bags got in to hit the start to put in drive and it went blank, then kept saying press start again and it would all light up but not start push again and it would go off. Tried the app key fob sitting and waiting and nothing. Used instant and got a wrecker which refused the tow bc you couldn’t put the Yukon into neutral. Finally made son n law was able to make it to me disconnected the battery cable and reconnected and it started right up. I guess I will need to take it into a dealer bc the engine light is on but not flashing. Have had it just under 3 months.

Has anyone gotten a real solution for this yet?

Go back through this thread and you'll find a link to the TSB. The dealer can update the software.

I’ve been super hesitant to use the auto start on my 22 after reading the thread but the 90 degree plus Georgia days were upon us so I made the appointment with my local deal and got the BCM updated on Wednesday. I’ve used the auto start without issue from the app a few times already. Fingers crossed.

Service department didn’t seem to know this was an issue nor did they know about the bulletin so I printed it out from this thread and brought it in with me.

whole process was quick, I had just hit 3000 miles so I said screw it and had them do the first oil change and tire rotation while I was there and whole thing took less than an hour.
It’s been about 2 and a half weeks since I had the update done and I’ve remote started from key fob/iPhone App and Apple Watch app a ton of times (stupid Georgia in the mid 90s really killing me) and I’ve had no issues at all.

I played it safe after reading the initial post in the thread until a solution was found, now I’m relieved and just using it as I normally would have.

Had mine updated with the fix on June 9th and it's been working perfectly ever since. Prior to the fix I had the issue happen to me twice in the first week I had the Tahoe.

That reminds me of a weird occurrence that happened to me when I tried remote starting for the first time 3 months ago when I first got my AT4. The vehicle started with no problem, but the dash and everything else didn't turn on. It kind of freaked me out, so I panicked and turned it off using the remote starting feature again. I then started it up the normal way and it was fine. Since then, I haven't tried to remote start it ever again.

The dash doesn’t come on with the “remote start.” If you remote start it, you have to still get in the vehicle (with the engine running), put your foot on the brake, and hit the start button, which will turn on all the accessories and the dash.

The issue this thread is about is that when the second step above was done (foot on brake, hit start button), the vehicle engine turned off and cannot be restarted.

I haven't had any issue with mine since it had the update done. Auto start has worked great since! It's a must for us out here in Phoenix when temps hit 118°!
