Had mine towed into the dealer, even with the bulletin being presented, my service advisor said he thinks it's something else lol. He mentioned it may just be my key fobs needing to be reset, I don't doubt that cause it did say on the screen that my fob was missing. Definitely a little bit of a deeper problem than my key fobs, I'll keep you all posted on what they present to me when I pick it up.Any update on this situation?
Do we have a fix?
D.
Something similar happened to me. Went shopping with the kids and several times used either the app or the key fob to start my Yukon. Last go round started it unlocked it loading my bags got in to hit the start to put in drive and it went blank, then kept saying press start again and it would all light up but not start push again and it would go off. Tried the app key fob sitting and waiting and nothing. Used instant and got a wrecker which refused the tow bc you couldn’t put the Yukon into neutral. Finally made son n law was able to make it to me disconnected the battery cable and reconnected and it started right up. I guess I will need to take it into a dealer bc the engine light is on but not flashing. Have had it just under 3 months.
Has anyone gotten a real solution for this yet?
It’s been about 2 and a half weeks since I had the update done and I’ve remote started from key fob/iPhone App and Apple Watch app a ton of times (stupid Georgia in the mid 90s really killing me) and I’ve had no issues at all.I’ve been super hesitant to use the auto start on my 22 after reading the thread but the 90 degree plus Georgia days were upon us so I made the appointment with my local deal and got the BCM updated on Wednesday. I’ve used the auto start without issue from the app a few times already. Fingers crossed.
Service department didn’t seem to know this was an issue nor did they know about the bulletin so I printed it out from this thread and brought it in with me.
whole process was quick, I had just hit 3000 miles so I said screw it and had them do the first oil change and tire rotation while I was there and whole thing took less than an hour.
The dash doesn’t come on with the “remote start.” If you remote start it, you have to still get in the vehicle (with the engine running), put your foot on the brake, and hit the start button, which will turn on all the accessories and the dash. That reminds me of a weird occurrence that happened to me when I tried remote starting for the first time 3 months ago when I first got my AT4. The vehicle started with no problem, but the dash and everything else didn't turn on. It kind of freaked me out, so I panicked and turned it off using the remote starting feature again. I then started it up the normal way and it was fine. Since then, I haven't tried to remote start it ever again.
