Thanks for the info. Yeah, I called back one of the Inventory managers at a local dealer and asked him if he has heard of any way to remove that OnStar requirement. He said "no". I asked if he had any idea why GMC would have the requirement but not Chevrolet and of course he had no idea. Seems very strange to me. At this point I may be leaning more towards the Suburban than the Yukon XL to save some money. One of the main reasons I had been leaning towards the Yukon was my preference for the Yukon grille. But the Suburban now has a new optional black grille that might change the equation. Still planning on putting orders in for both models and firm up my decision later.

Not sure if anyone has run across this or not. My current 22 order status is 2000, I called and asked the Dealer if it would be a 23. Their answer was, we don't know, as long as it sits at 2000 we can't change it to a 23. They said as long as it is sitting at 2000, GM is saying they accepted it and will build it, so they have to wait for GM to tell them they can't. They also said if GM doesn't build it as a 22, mine will be at the top of the list for 23 builds. Are they blowing smoke up my backside? We ordered a Lexus LX600 this past Saturday since GM is struggling with builds, the Lexus should be here by the end of July at the latest.

Now that I've waited 6 months for mine, I really feel like I want to get the super cruise to ease my pain on not getting a truck for this years race season. I am probably going to be forced to leave my 2022 and subsequently the converted 2023 order in the system while I wait for the end of the year for supercruise ordering to open up I imagine?

Just got an email from my dealership… the OnStar requirement for Yukons has dropped to $905 (from $1500). Not sure which trim levels this applies to (ours is an SLE).
Wow great news! Still wish it didn’t exist at all but definitely better.
I’ll have to see if that is the case for SLT.

Yes they can order 2023s.
Order guide isn’t complete so pricing on certain packages and accessories is not available.
Impossible to even submit an order with luxury package.
Supposedly a big hold up are window switches.

Window switches? Those are in nearly every new vehicle built. Could he have meant sunroof switches possibly? I cant imagine them building thousands and thousands of vehicles without switches, as to install them, they would have to tear down every single door on every single vehicle built. So if they produce 1000 vehicles a weel, that is 4000 doors to remove and install switches in and then reinstall them. Then again, they might be that stupid to do it that way.

I ordered a '23 Yukon SLT and the dealer told me they could not submit my order because of the luxury package. Not sure what the hold up is because all the items in the package have known retrofits.
