Hi Folks! My 06 Yukon just hit 215K this week. She is running PERFECTLY!!!! My question to the group is: Should I do any type of special service now shes at 215k? If so, what specifically?

I religiously do an oil change every 3K miles at Chevron oil stop, and have all the fluids "topped off", but have not done anything else since she hit about 120K (i believe).

At 175K i had the water pump & pulleys & belts all replaced. And at 200K i had the radiator replaced. THATS IT, nothing else.
Like i mentioned above. She is running flawlessly, literally like new. Just wondering if I should go have anything special done now at this point so I can keep her running for another 200K?

Thanks everyone!

My rule of thumb is replace things as needed.
Oil clean? Don't replace it.
Oil dirty? Replace it.
Coolant dirty? Replace it.
transmission fluid dirty? Replace it.
differential fluid dirty? Replace it.
t-case fluid dirty? Replace it.
Air filter dirty? Replace it.
Spark plug dirty? Replace it.
Brake pad or rotor getting low? Replace it.
Suspension part getting play in it? Replace it.
Serpentine belt cracking? Replace it.

If you aren't going to do the work yourself take it to a reputable mechanic and have them check it over and see what needs to be replaced. Don't take it to a dealership or a chain shop they just want to sell you stuff.

There is no 1 trick in here that anyone is going to tell you that will make it drive 1 million miles. You just have to be a responsible person and take care of your shit and hope for the best!

It looks like in 95k miles you have changed the oil and coolant. IMO, brake fluid flush, diff fluids changed and transfer case change and power steering fluid change and trans fluid and filter because I have no idea if the trans has ever been flushed. I am going off nothing done except oil and cooling system work since 120k miles.

Read my signature and see why I say what I am saying but to each their own. "Maintenance pays and breakdowns cost". I believe in preventative maintenance instead of breakdown maintenance. Preventative maintenance is something you can plan on and know the cost of in advance but breakdown maintenance is a surprise and an unknown cost.

If OP has owned the vehicle since new and doesnt know all of the history on it then I would recommend dropping the Tcase if its a 246/246E and pulling off the back half and installing the anti rub plate for the pump if the rear case hald doesnt already have the pinhole. While Its open I would refresh it all with new bearings, seals, chain and clutches if it has auto 4wd.
Very easy job to do at home. Only "special" tools needed that most may not have is long reach internal/external snapring pliars and bearing/seal driver set. Tons of nice videos on youtube step by step disassembly and reassembly.

My wife's 03 Tahoe threw the chain through the case before I knew something was wrong. Happened about 220k. I had to buy a core and rebuild it because the old Tcase was only good for parts after the chain ejection.

I agree with @OR VietVet, I also agree with the preventative maintenance approach. Take care of your truck and she will take care of you. I would also pull a spark plug and inspect both the plugs and the wires.

thanks folks. Yes, ive owned the truck since new. Up until 120K I took it into the dealership for every single recommended service. The final big one done at the dealer was the 120K service. Since then, just the things ive mentioned. I take it to chevron oil stop every 3K religiously for the oil changes and they check the trans fluid, tcase fluid and dif fluid and offer to replace (wasn’t sure if they could actually mess that up by replacing or if it was a legit service for them to do). I guess I can have those done next few times I’m there. ALSO - spark plugs have not been changed since the big 120K, so I’ll have those replaced and wires checked as well soon.
