Hey all...haven't been around much. Just trying to get by in life. Surprisingly the burb is still kickin.

Anyhow, weird thing that has happened a few times in the past months. 4x4, specifically 4HI, just engages when it feels like it. Doesnt happen often, but this morning was my 3rd event in a couple of months' time. One time was while driving, I made a left hand turn and I felt like it was lurching a little and sure enough, I believe the the 4HI light was on (it was midday, sun was out, it was bright and that light is tiny af). The knob was in 2HI. I switched to 4HI, then back to AUTO, then 2HI and it was fine. Same thing happened today, but it was parked. I put her into drive and it took WAAY more power to pull out of my driveway, and sure enough, the knob was in 2HI and the 4HI light was lit. I could see it for certain today. Anyone else seen this type of behavior? I did some google searching but with keywords it was showing me stuff like 'truck will move in 4x4, but not 2WD" and so on, so it didn't really apply.

Good to hear from you Derick! Either the encoder motor on the transfer is acting up or it is the switch on the dash. I'm inclined to think the former and the latter is putting it back where it belongs until the other goes haywire again. You know I'd tell you to put a Tech-2 on it and find out for sure!
