My 4 hi will not engage, So far what i do know is that in netural the 4 lo will engage and the light will go solid and i can go back to 2 hi fine with a solid light. But if i try 4 hi, the 4 hi and 4 lo light will flash a couple times then go it will go back to 2 hi. Now when I pull the transfer case fuse, it acts like it resets the transfer case switch cluster and it will go into 4 hi that way but going down the road it will be solid when im on the gas then when i let up sometimes it will flash(not always).

Bad relay, or bad ground sounds like. I always like my manual type pull bar 4x4 engage on the floor. No electronic bull to deal with.

and It works fine this morning now goes in and out of 4 hi just fine. I plan on pulling it into the shop and taking a look at the grounds and to see if i can find the relay.

Thanks

Time for me to read and learn

I too am hoping to learn from this answer as my 2wd on my 98 with auto 4wd option light is bright until I drive on a bumpy road and then the light goes dim and it feels strange in the front. I will read and watch intently. :Handshake:
