My 2005 Yukon is at 176k and drives fine but slips when a trailer is on the back and has a whining noise when in the higher RPM so it's time for a rebuild for me as well but babying it for now until I decide which shop to get it done at151k im sure u know what is happening .... more than likely the clutches are worn and just not engaging completely. yes a trans kit and upping the line pressure will make it shift better but this is only a temporary fix. you are more than likely on your way to a rebuild
