5.3 SLP Resonator delete W Esky/Denali bumper?

Kirk, I'm in the same situation as you. I've got an SLP tip waiting to be installed, but i want absolutely no drone. From what I've read people claim there is none, but its so subjective.

The J-pipe mod looks interesting and I do remember hearing my camaro friend mention it. Those cars seem to even drone in stock form.

I'm going to try and install my SLP tip this weekend. I'll let you know what I think.

Did you ever end up removing the resonator?

I get no drone w/ my SLP tip. It basically sounds like a GMT800 exhaust at idle and can't tell any difference at speed. I think the resonator's purpose is to silence the AFM sound. I couldn't tell any difference tho whether it was in 4 cyl or 8 cyl mode.

I did have to bend the hanger rod a little to drop the tip down away from the bumper cover.

My SLP tip on my '08 Tahoe literally touched the bumper cover. It never got hot enough to melt anything even on long trips. No noticeable drone for me either
