Fair enough, Minnesota is only 800-1100' above sea level, but the state mandated "premium" is min 91, which is what is mostly available...there are a few 93's around...but not many. Costco is 92. Net, do I run 91, 92, or 93 (priority being engine longevity) or should I imagine that any of these is ok?
The same is true in most of the western states, including California where 91 is also considered premium. As such, 91+ meets the premium fuel recommended by GM, so you're good. I tow a 7000 lb camper with ours and also have a custom tune and a bigger cam than stock, so my margins are even slimmer. I run 93 when I can get it but 91 when I can't, such as when traveling.

Maybe you shouldnt have bought the 6.2 if you are worried about the cents difference in gas. If we are fretting over a couple of dollars in gas, then we need to buy a prius. Just my 10 cents.

that's some funny shit, spend 60-80k to save $2.50 on a tank of gas lol
I did say, “one of the reasons”. With my driveway, I needed the extra clearance of a Z71. AT4 would’ve worked but I’m not a fan of the new Yukon front end. So, when I ordered a new truck I decided not to go 6.2 because I didn’t want to keep paying the difference. I did the math, I’ve spent an “extra” 8k over the last 15 years simply buying premium. I didn’t want to keep adding to that total.

Over 15 years, it does adds up. But, it is still only $1.46 per day. But, I get it, and to each his own. That is what freedom is all about (very poignant these days).

I have been wondering about this. I have only had my 2022 for two weeks. The Owner's Manual says to use minimum 91 octane. OK to use 87 but results in some loss of performance. It also says do not use E85 or Flexfuel. Hey, it's a performance machine, that's one reason I bought it, so I can live with it. I'm retired and don't drive that much anyway.

All good my man. Trust me, I waste money on much more ridiculous things(serious guitar habit), it just no longer made sense to me. The 6.2 is a beast and I’ll probably miss it. Time will tell.

Yes saving money on fuel is a big deal. If you think about how much extra you spend just on premium a year, it could easily be five to $800. Personally that’s why I searched out a Duramax. It was actually a discount, engine wise, and gets 40% better mileage. I fed a premium hog for years. (5.7 Hemi )…it was a 100.00 a wk habit. I didn’t care when premium was plus $.30 over regular unleaded. But now in many areas it’s plus $.60-$.80…that’s extortion. Diesel is higher than regular, about even with mid grade, but still far less than premium at least where we are…
