My wife backed out of the driveway yesterday and service 4 wd message appeared. She called and thought the parking brake was on. We've had ours in 2wd the entire time. Anyone else had it with just using 2wd? Bought the car out of state and called a local dealer who said they havent heard of the issue in the new models. Should I avoid them for repairs or just tell them to reflash the transfer case? This is crazy to still have this issue
Just saying driving on dry pavement in any kind of 4wd may not be the best and may have led to the failure. We get up to a foot of snow at a time here so I'm aware of snowy conditions. With that said I never drive 200 miles with 4wd in auto or anything else. I keep it in 2wd until the conditions ask for 4wd then I do what needs to be done but never for 200 miles.
Good thing you're under warranty I guess.
Is not right Gm now left us hanging with a problem it looks like is not solutions for, now yesterday they do last update and it is a grinding noise on the transfer case,is very uncomfortable, let see what happens will put another claim to Gm. It's not like 4lock.
I left my wife's previous Tahoes in 4auto all winter long without issue.

So today there was a huge rain. I ran my 2015i Denali in Auto. I then had to go up an incline to get to a house so I put it in 4wd High. When I had to take a turn left there was a ton of binding and grinding with considerable reduction in turning ratio.<br />

Is that how 4wd High is suppose to operate?
